Starry Starry Night!

Card13009 See  ... that is a song and for once I actually know who sang it ... Don Maclean!

It rates as one of my all time favourites and I would even go so far as saying ... if I ever make it as a Breakfast Weather Girl ... and get invited onto Desert Island Discs ... well I shall be picking that song ... there you go ... you heard it here first!

I am not a big fan of making my own Christmas cards ... I get bored very quickly ... and to keep changing styles all the time ... well it is time consuming and a tad untidy! So this year I have come up with a plan ... Keep them simple ... yet fun!Card1a3009

This one is all about the background. The sky is Chipped Sapphire ... stamped with Gold Dabber ... and dotted with a Ranger white pen ... then I have Distress Stickled it all over ... very messy ... just the way I like it! Chipped Sapphire is indeed a Lord Tim of Holtz Distress Ink ... you know Tim ... the man that can entertain an entire cruise ship while conversing with the entire population of sea creatures with just a single ticket from his tickets strip die and the P of a pricking tool!

The stamps I have used are the Darkroom Door Christmas Reindeer Collection! Talking of collections ... what collections of songs would you choose for Desert Island Discs? ... I must away ... I am part way through a secret squirrel project ... and I really should get it finished!

Have a fab evening y'all

Laters!

Your piccie doesn't do this card justice, I've seen it in real life and it is really vibrant in the flesh, I think it's one of my favourites.

Now that September is practically over (like in 3 hours time,) I need to start my Christmas cards. I always make all of mine (normally do around 70.... mostly different) Love this card, it is a wonderful colour.

For someone who gets bored making Christmas cards that is a gorgeous one. I make all of mine and also sell some.

Your card is absolutely fabulous.

I also remember the Don McLean song Starry Starry Night, like it too, along with his other hits.

Have you seen the TH / Ranger you tube link where TH uses - I think it is the cut and dry foam and you stamp your image on to it then colour it in using alcohol inks then you can restamp your image again and again to produce lots of lovely xmas cards :)

Love the card Linda. I always make all my own Christmas cards but I end up making them in batches of about 8. That's as many as I can do of the same design before boredom sets in. Starry Starry Night always takes me back tp my student days @* years ago.

I'm trying to catch up on my fave blogs as I've been away.
If I leave a comment on all your posts I'll be here for hours so I've scrolled through and see that as usual you've been busy making wonderful things and entertaining us all with your messages!
Everything is fab - love the colours you've been using and the cards/artworks you've been making. It's such an education visiting here.

Simple but soooo effective, love it all - fabby reindeer :-) Great song too Linda. You don't REALLY want a list of everyone's songs for D.I.D. but I would have to have 'The Last Time' by the Rolling Stones. 'Don't Speak' by No Doubt and a fab dance version of 'Zombie' - originally by The Cranberries (would love to find the dance version but am not 100% sure who did it).

Ooh just found it - I know you're probably very definitely not interested but it's here hehe
http://www.discogs.com/ADAM-Featuring-Amy-Zombie-Dance-Version/release/215834 - clikc on the little video on right hand side. (I did think it was by A.D.A.M. but last time I Googled it I couldn't find it so thought maybe I'd got it wrong)
