Where did Monday Morning go?

BF1e1801

Seriously guys ... I think someone nicked it!

I had my breakfast at 7.20am ... made a couple of phone calls ... sent a couple of emails ... wrote a blog post ... and it is now 2.20pm ... so who do you think nicked it?

No surprises from me today ... I have blogged some more chip for the Bubbly Scrumptious blog ... Grey chip ... which I lurve and of course Wendy Vecchi stamps ... which I also lurve :0) If you fancy giving this a go ... click here and you can see a step by step of how I made it!

Colours are a bit brighter than normal ... not sure what's occurring ... I said that like Nessa ... well sort of ... if you don't watch Gavin and Stacey ... well you will have no clue what I am on aBF1d1801bout ... no change there then :0) I seem to be drawn to warmer colours at the moment ... Do you think it is something to do with the weather? ... or more optimism because we are at the beginning of a new decade? ... who knows ... and if you don't ... well it is no good looking at me ... I can't even remember the question :0)

Have a good one people ... I am off in search of coffee :0)

Fit To Burst!

WV

I am sooooo excited ... I can hardly type straight! If I was clever at this point I would have made the text wavy ... coz that would have been reeeeeeally funny ... but I am not that clever!

Why am I sooooo excited??? ... well ... after lots of talking and planning with Lin Brown from L.B Crafts ... I can now announce that I will be doing some classes there ... in the new year ... How cool is that?LB1a1109

I am totally honoured that Lin chose me ... I LOVE her classes ... the organisation ... the planning ... the way they are run ... her teaching style ... the individuality of her projects ... the chocolate fix ... it is all wonderful and I hope that some of her flare, creativity, style and fabulous ideas will rub off on me ... If I ever get in the same division as her ... let alone the same league ... well I will be one happy lady!

Remember the Grunge paper pieces ... well ... you lot made me howl with laughter ... No Helen it is not grunge meccano ... and Carmen ... wings for Tim??? I will have you know the legend that is Mr Holtz can fly without wings :0) A crocodiles snout was close ... NOT! ... so no cigar for Nigel!

LB11109 I was in fact ... as many of you guessed correctly making some roof tiles for this little bird house.

The roof is made entirely from spiced rum metal and grunge paper using a Wendy Vecchi stamp. Her stamps are the best ... so versatile ... tile ... Geddit???

The walls are made with Dijon TSS metal ... which is my new favourite and the fence and window box is made from craft sticks ... I had so much fun making this ...

I have probably bent your ears enough for one day ... so I am off to make ... erm ... something else :0)

Dans Ma Maison il y a ... Ce Que Vous Voulez!!!

DMM Time The English translation for all you non speaking French bloggers is ... in my house there is ... What you want!!!

Now when it says what you want, it means me, not you!!! Sadly I cannot speak much french either and I don't know how to say What I want!!! I can say "the ruler is on the table" and "the bird is in the garden" ... in French ... not just in English :0)

I shall now get to the point! Which is the Dans Ma maison Challenge!!! In my house I want time!!! There never seems to be enough!!

I have tried loads of new textures etc., on this house ... a new acrylic stiff gel medium for one ... it was good fun to be honest!!!

And not a stamp in sight ... now that was tricky!!!

Trick or Treat!

DMM Halloween Two challenges in one here folks!

The Dans ma maison il y a challenge is Halloween! The TGiF challenge was also Halloween!

I am a bit late with both as they were set on Friday.

I have enjoyed making Halloweeny bits this year though ... it must be the Cherry Pie Art stamps that have done it!

I have used Black Soot for the background of this house and embossed all the bats in black embossing powder. I added the eyes for a little bit of fun ... well we don't want anything too scary :0)

I am off to carve a few pumpkins now - Have a good week everyone!

The Whole Street!

HCA Swap I have been a bit poorly over the last couple of days ... not well enough to craft or nothing ... now that is poorly!

You can imagine how receiving an envelope in the post filled with house swaps cheered me up no end!

I thought I would share them all with you ... What a talented bunch of people!

If you are one of the builders of these beautiful houses - Thank you so much!

Anyway, this evening I am beginning to feel humanBlueOrange again and I have actually made a card! This is for the Artygirlz challenge which, this week, is Orange and Blue. Not a colour choice I would usually make ... but that is the good thing about challenges ... they take you out of your comfort zone!

BlueOrange1 The paper is Ferris Wheel by October Afternoon ... I needed a man's card and I think this fits the bill. I love the little orange wheels which are from the other side of the stripes and I have cut them out and layered them up.

Not much stamping involved, which is unusual for me ... but hopefully tomorrow I shall be feeling more my old self!

Dans ma maison il y a ...

HCA 5 ... une femme! Can you see my deliberate mistake here ... the Dans ma maison challenge is une femme and I have deux femmes in my house!

In my defence though at least one of my women looks like a bloke in a hat!

The Bingo background seemed totally appropriate for a "house" ... get it!!!

And I finally made use of one of my Bingo counters ... so I am chuffed about that!

It is still raining here ... I don't think it has stopped all night!!!

I am rapidly running out of time for my house swap - so I must get on with my last few.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend everybody!

Saturday, October 4

Owl Lodge!

HCA 8 The Thank God it's Friday Challenge is all about tone!

I have chosen browns to make my Owl House!

I have used various different stitching stamps to decorate the main part of the house and the roof ... the little fence along the bottom is by Paper Artsy.

I am a bit behind this week with the challenges - and I have a really busy week next week so I am unlikely to catch up ... I will make time to look in on all of yours though :0)

I am now behind with the 10 houses I need for the house swap I am in ... so I may be back with another house later today :0)

Sunday, September 21

Just clowning around!

HCA 4 There I was wishing you a good week because I had forgotten that I had this to blog as well!

The Sunday Stamper theme this week is clowns.

I thought this was another ideal opportunity to make a house. Don't worry I am nearly there! At least I think I am ... I still have plenty of time to reject a few that I have already made!

The yummy stamps I have used are Paperartsy Pierrot plates 1 and 2.

Well this is definitely my last blog update for this weekend! So Have a good week everyone :0)

Dans ma maison ...

... il y a une fleur!

DMM Flower I am hoping you can guess what is in my house just by looking at it ... but just in case ... this week's Dans ma maison challenge is a flower!

The little people dancing on the window ledge are flower fairies ... in case you were wondering why their legs were green and they were very small compared to the crystals on the chandelier!

I am not sure if this one will make it into the house swap or not ... I will wait and see what you all think! If it does ... then I only have another 4 to make and if it does n't well ... Hey Ho!

I can't believe it is Sunday already - Where did this week go?

Have a good week everyone!

Wednesday, September 17

The Wednesday Stamper!

HCA 2 Tis Wednesday today which means a new Wednesday Stamper Challenge! This week the theme is peace.

Apparently the Peace symbol is celebrating it's 50th birthday this year ... 2008 ... just in case you are a slow reader :0) and the 21st of September is the UN international day of peace.

Don't ever let anyone tell you that my blog is n't educational :0)

I have made a house ... a peaceful one hopefully ... but I shall leave that for you to decide!!!

I have a thing about white embossing powder and blending colours over the top at the moment ... don't worry ... it is probably a phase ... I am sure it will pass ... my Tri- fold card phase did!!! Actually so did my quilling phase and my DL card phase and my glossy accent phase and my black card phase and ...

House Swap - Take 3!

HCA 3

TGiF this week is an "open theme" ... just what I needed to spur on my house building!

I knew it ... I told you did n't I? I said I would go off my other houses and I have!!!

So this is my third attempt and in effort to "like" them until I actually send them in for the swap ... I have made three and stuck them straight into an envelope ... I am not  even going to peak at them again!

I was struggling before with thick card ... the only thick card I have is coloured ... so I have gone for plain white mount board instead ... which meant that the house shape itself had to be much simpler!

They are all a slightly different shape and very different designs!

3 down and 7 to go!

Put your Thinking Caps on!

WS cap The Wednesday Stamper challenge this week is "put your thinking caps on!". I have used one of my most well used stamps from Paper Artsy to create my house.

I am not sure where I was going with this one ... it just kind of evolved as I was working on it!

Sunday, September 7

The Sunday Stampers is back!

SS Home Oh yes ... after a  short vacation this weekly challenge is back! The theme on Sunday Stampers  is home!

Now I went on a fab crafty shopping spree yesterday during a visit to my daughter's. Bearing in mind she lives about 20 minutes away from me ... I only discovered that within a three minute drive from her house there are not one but two fabulous craft shops ... and I mean fabulous!

I had such a great time, I am not sure my daughter was as excited about the time I spent in them ... but I was in heaven I can tell you!

Anyways I digress ... On my shopping spree I found this adorable little birdcage stamp and never dreamed I would get such an early opportunity to use it!

Great challenge Hels and Great to have you back!

Saturday, September 6

Princess Towers!

HCA 1 It should be fit for a Princess ... it has taken me all night to make it! Not sure why ... I think my head ran away with ideas and then I had to hunt through all my stash to find stuff! I really should just use what is in front of me!HCA

Anyway ... I am quite pleased with the result! I am  in a house swap [not real houses!] and this is just one of 10. I did make one last week ... but I have gone off that now ... so I will have to make the next lot a bit quicker before I go off this one!

Saturday, August 23

The dark side!!!

House swap 1a Not sure if this side of the orange house is a tad too dark! I thought it would be nice to do the back of the house ... by night ... I used that dark blue dabber and it looks even darker in the photo I'm afraid. I have decided to enter this house into a swap I am doing on a forum ... one down and erm ... nine to make ...

Friday, August 22

Dans ma maison il y a ... du Orange!

House swap 1

The Dans ma maison challenge this week is Orange! [Did you see what I did there ... translated the word Orange for all the non French speaking peeps amongst you :0) ]

At Stamperama last week [or was it the week before last? ... Hey Ho!] I just had to buy the Tops and Tails plate from Paperartsy ... I just know you will be seeing a lot of it now that it is cut out and mounted! I love them birds!

I have had a good week - about time really ... it has been a while! A visitation from Crafty friends always goes down well with me! I got my Cricut and lessons from the lovely Dan, my darling daughter turned 21 and ... I only had to work two days ... right result huh???

Friday, August 1

Dans ma maison il y a ...

DMM Sea la mer!!!

It has been a while since I have done this challenge ... in fact it has been a while since I have done any challenges ... but it's Friday ... I have had a good day at work ... the weekend starts here ... and I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders!!! It was only a proverbial weight ... but it has gone none the less!

The challenge theme this week [for the non french speakers amongst you ... is the sea]

My house is painted with iridescent Mica pigments ... I have versamarked and embossed all the images ... then I have brayered my favourite colour [stream] from the Adirondack range over the top.

Not sure the end result is quite what I had in mind ... but I like the fact that it sparkles :0)

Hope you all have a good weekend peeps ... I intend too :0)

Dans ma maison il y a ... du rose!

DMM4 Earlier tonight [technically now last night] was the launch of this week's Dans ma maison challenge.

This week the theme is Pink ..... which is very handy because I was in a bit of a pink mood!

In fact, looking at my finished house .... I would say I was in a very pink mood!

The gorgeous flower is stitchels again and the door [which is technically a window] is from the Artistic Stamper.

I used Dan's Saturday template #1 again - because I love, love, love the quirky shape - can't wait to see his template for this week :0) which will be available later today ..... or it may even be now .... I shall go and check!

Saturday, June 28

Dans ma maison il y a ...

DMM2 .... un garcon.

For this challenge I have used a page from an old book and covered it with Gesso. Actually that covers the Saturday work out challenge as well as the Dans ma maison il y a challenge. Two for one - can't be bad!

I have used Dan's Saturday template #1 which was a house. That also reminds me .... don't forget to visit Dan and grab this week's fab free template #4.

The boy stamp I have used is from the Crafting guru otherwise known as Mr. Tim.

I hope you like the way I decorated my house.

Tuesday, June 24

I know the music man ....

...and this is where he lives! Dan2

I don't really! Know him I mean :0) ....I made that up! Well I did n't actually make it up either - I just changed the words to that well known and very irritating song!

Ok .... seriously the Dans ma maison challenge this week is de la musique. So I took Dan's week one template and cut it out in black. Stamped the notes in white, cut out the roofy bit (technical term) in more black, stamped the paperartsy music man in white and cut out the window framey bit (another technical term) and put it all together.

The picture is n't great I am afraid - but I kinda think you regular viewers don't visit me to observe my photographic prowess :0)
