There are many types of people ... and I am a yes ... I will give it a go type! Obviously I know my limitations ... my pole dancing career is obviously over before it got started and if approached by the National Pole Dancing Institute ... well I would have the sense to say no! I digress ... I am not sure where the pole dancing example came from ... but hey ... I will now get to the point.
The very talented Lin Brown has asked me to demo with her at Ally Pally ... in just 10 more sleeps. Obviously she asked me before today ... and I said "Yeah ... Sure ... Why not!" I really am quite excited by the whole prospect ...
Now I am also going to quietly admit to you guys ... coz I know you can keep a secret [John still does n't know about the pins in the wall] I am a teensy weensy bit terrified too ... a tad worried the nerves are gonna kick in and I will be developing new shaky hand techniques right left and centre! This is where you come in ... What do you like to get out of a demo at a show??? No postcards required ... just a note in the comments box would suffice ... I am just trying to stop torturing myself with unrealistic expectations or scenarios where I get mobbed because I do something really silly or forget an absolutely vital piece of equipment ... I kinda feel like you know me by now ... you certainly have a good idea of what I do ... so what would you like to see? ... remember pole dancing is not an option :0)
And ... if you are going to Ally Pally ... please pop by and say Hi :0) I would soooo love to put faces to all the names and voices actually!
Okey Dokey ... now for the chip ... I am loving the new Paper Artsy Flora and Fauna range! The flowers have a whole different shaped petal and they look fab done in Grunge. Distress inks used are Stormy Sky; Rusty Hinge and Forest Moss. Wendy Vecchi stamps for the text and Background and patterns on flowers ... and I nearly forgot ... the chip is Maya Road :0)
I am off on a play date with Andrea and Denize today ... Cannot wait :0) See ya later!

never been to any demos before so no experience, but if i did, i'd like witty banter (check - yes you can do that), someone who knows their products (check - you do too), and someone who is not afraid to say what doesn't work, as well as say what does - and i seriously think that you are talented and experienced enough to do that too.
I;d also name drop a bit while you're at it... tell 'em who you've rubbed shoulders with, had birthday greetings from, had things made for you by... then when you've finished talking about me, mention Lord Tim.
Oops - i've never rubbed shoulders with you or made anything for you... need to put that right sometime. In the meantime - e-mail me your addy - i can put one thing right quicker than the other.
Thanks for you comment on my WOYWW by the way - and yes, I can talk and make comments as long as the average blog post :O) - thats me! love me or leave me!!!!

Don;t worry about the demoing...just pretend that the peeps looking at you are all your best buddies..and I know you are more than capable of making it work hun. Love the new PA stamps..need some of those...have a fab day with A & D .. give them a big hug from me please xx
ooops - and after all that, i forgot to tell you that your (chip) - is that what you called it... sorry terminology beyond me...
oooh and surely you wouldn't get turned down by the national poledancing institute (or whatever) LOL!!!!

I for one am chuffed to bits that you are going to be demoing on my very first visit to Ally Pally. I'm going with my three blogging chums but I think they might end up leaving me at LBCrafts stand seeing as how one of my absolute top notch favourite stampers is going to be there. I'll probably get arrested for stalking, Lol!
Seriously though sweetie, I'm sure you'll be great and I don't care which of your techniques you demo, I'll be watching avidly. How you build up your backgrounds like you do on your tags might be good. or how you add more depth to your metal embossing with acrylic paints etc.
Hugs
Lesley Xx
It's dope, you're dope, demo will be dope. Word. :)
Hi Linda. I like to see a demo using some new technique or product that makes me want to buy a few new products and then can't wait to get home and miserably fail to recreate the project demo'ed!!! No pressure there then lol!!! The last one was Tims grungepaper roses but I got there in the end!!! Good Luck at Ally Pally.
Wow, love this. You'll be fantastic demoing, wish I could come along and watch. Just be yourself, everyone is there to learn and you'll have a captive audience. Good luck. Hugs xx
I can't wait for Ally Pally either - I start counting down at the end of the last one - you will be FAB - and hay, we ARE all your friends, already.
ANYTHING you do will be great - Lin does giveaways... (hint, hint) and I may just never leave the stand all day... you have been warned. (Lin will confirm I hang around quite a while anyway!) You need something fairly quick but interesting.... pity you can't bring gazillions of your beer mats???? (supplies for special blog stalkers???)
Oh, yes, today's tag is GORGEOUS
You will be just fine doing what you do Linda ! They will love it !
I have never been to a show but if i were to go and have a demo i think i would enjoy it if it was light hearted and friendly and not you do this and that and going by what i have been reading on your blog you will be perfect at it so dont stress and enjoy. love the chip piece so up my street.
I'm a bit worried too Linda about you doing a demo because Lin's stand is always my favourite at AllyPally as it's usually soooooo busy - now, if you are going to be there - and demo-ing it's going to be an absolute nightmare trying to get anywhere near it - LOL!!!!!!! Please tell Lin, she needs a double, or triple stand!!! You are sure to be a great hit and for me any demo using any of the products on sale will be a bonus - now I need to get hold of some extra funds as I know I'm gonna need them! Good luck, but I'm sure you won't need it x
Hi Linda, I will definitely come and say Hi. I will be there with Craftimamma, (see her earlier comment), soaking up all of the information I can take on board. Good luck with the demos, I am sure that you will be fine, we won't notice the nerves, we will just be looking at whatever you are producing, so don't worry, you will be great. Judith x
I suffer from shaky Hand syndrome on many occasions too. My remedy is a flask of coffe heavily laced with kahlua! That's it, my secret is out! Busted.
You will be fab, it's just how you are anyway: playing all day, and chatting at the same time! I have to figure out how to do all that and talk in French at the same time because while you are at Ally Pally I have 3 days demoing ast Version Scrap in France! LOL This may require more kahlua than usual. Have fun and wish I could be there to see you in action too!! Leandra
Wish I lived closer Linda, you will be fine with your talant and quick wit, your stand will be packed. Oh, gorgeous hangy thing too.x
For me live demos is where I pick up the little details. A twist of the paper i hadn't tried or a technique that gives something that wow finish. Share with us some details!

I've only recently discovered your blog. If you are anything in real life like you are on here then your demoes will be a blast!
The only problem you will have is people not wanting to walk away!
Can't wait to see what you come up with. Am now thinking that I should have bought a 2-day ticket: one day to watch you and Lin, and one day to shop!
I hope you enjoy it!
Oh, and please tell us all about Sir Tim...
Do you remember when you first starting teaching for me, you were really nervous but everyone loved you. Well, When you get to Ally Pally and the day begins, the adrenalin will surge, you will knock everyone socks off with your talent and wit and everyone will love you even more as you will now be a real live artist instead of the virtual one that everyone knows from you blog. Don't worry if you get wobbly knees, I'll be there with you for the whole shebang!!
I'm absolutely no help with the demo as I've never been to one (boo hoo) but I'm sure you'll be fine as long as you get really inky fingers. I'd recommend chocolate beforehand though xxx
I look for a friendly manner and someone who can answer your questions on what they are demoing. And obs. a lovely finished project. I am sure you will be fine Linda, I will make sure I will come and say hello on the Sunday.....I can give you marks out of ten if it's helpfull...No?
Oh, don't be nervous, you'll do fine! Do you want me to come stand by you for moral support? lol Or to take care of unruly Ally Pally people? lol I just like seeing people demonstrate new product on a completed project from start to finish. Your piece here is lovely as ever, by the way1
I think a demo that reinforces the basics and then shows something new to top things off ...that way all levels will enjoy it eg ... How do you get such smooth even colour ...(have really tried with no luck).... then layering up colours ...using a mask or ... making and using water and perfect pearl sprays and finally make something with grunge paper to embelish the tag ...trinchie ...or what ever ...thats what I would enjoy ...As a result you sell each component to beginners and odd bits/colours to the diehard crafter. You will be great ...just be your self ...and speak clearly for the deaf lol ... shame I moved to scotland I would have loved to heckle ... sorry ...support you lol
OOPs ...forgot to say I LOVE this and it would be a wonderful demo ...with a little 'heres what I did earlier' with all but one of the flowers ....I'm going now ....prommise xx
fabulous flowers Linda!!! As for being a demo, just be yourself, you are uber talented and so funny, who wouldn't like to watch and listen
Happy Easter

If you went pole dancing you'd be more likely to ink the thing that anything else - after all it stands still.....
The only demos I've been to are a couple by Sir Tim - and you know his style. I was thoroughly engrossed and inspired, and as you know, I'm not any Inky-whizz. I enjoyed his easy, friendly style, it made you think you could make stuff just like that....
well after the demo you gave me and Denize today I just know you will knock there socks of with your talent, you are a fun person and full of character Linda that whatever you demo could not fail to impress, you are just the perfect person to accompany Lin and between you will be one of the busiest stands at the show, just wish I were going to support you and you go girl and blow them away xx thanks for today and your art here is just as fab as ever xx
I love your sense of humour :D and oh I wish I was closer so that I could attend your demo...your art is so inspirational!!
Love your amazing flowers on this piece and the gorgeous colours.
I'm sure your demo will be a huge success and you will have a great day.
hugs
Chris xx
I would like you to have a great big sticker on saying Carmen you blind bat I am Linda! Then I will know it's you. :D
As for demos I just love seeing how to do something new. I would love to see you doing any of your fabulous techniques and hope I manage to find you! I bet you go on your tea break or something just as I wander past *g*

Hi Linda,
Worry not, you'll be fab. I think people are looking for something different from demos and between you, you and Lin have definitely got that covered. And with that and your sparkling repartee you're going to charm everyone into spending 'loads of money'.
If I can manage to get there I'll definitely be paying you a visit.
Have a good Easter.
Allyson xxx
really looking forward to meeting you in the flesh (so to speak) now how do I introduce myself? the one who has a terribly messy craft room?? The one who has promised not to tell john about the holes??
oh I forgot.... I did actually tell John
