The Best Joke ... Ever!
I should have scheduled this post yesterday ... but then I thought ... I have to be up early in the morning ... so I will type it out and post it then! Did I? No! I forgot! My plans changed and I forgot!
And now it is very late!
Late for what? I hear you ask ... Well! Basically I am late telling you that all the destructions (that's a wonderful Lin Brown ism) to make this foldy booky thing are up on the Craft Barn blog today!
I know it looks a bit tricky ... but you trust me right? So when I say it really is n't ... well you know it really is n't! All the ingredients and measurements are there too ... so if you fancy making one ... do come back and share ... I would LOVE to see what you do!
I need to say "GRRR" at this point too ... Mr Blogger is playing up as I type ... If he does n't leave my pictures where I have carefully placed them ... I may have to virtually slap his legs!
The Rosette and charms are of course Lord Tim of Holtz ... you know Tim ... the man that made Joseph's original technicolour dream coat while designing St. Paul's Cathedral with just a spritz of Ranger Color wash and a smidge of Wonder Tape.
The flowers are from Mr and Mrs Paper Artsy ... LOVE them!
Anyways ... I have a special treat for you today ... I heard the best joke yesterday ... do you want to hear it? Erm ... Well read it anyways??
Here goes ...
I was on Safari in Africa last week and the tour guide was naming diiferent groups of animals.
"That's a pride of lions" he said.
"A tower of giraffes"
"A flight of birds"
Then he said "herd of elephants"
So I said "Yes"
Have a good day people ... well ... erm ... afternoon anyway ... and if you know any good jokes ... don't forget to share!

Get Me ... and Thank You!
It was a sad day last Saturday ... I taught my last class at LB Crafts ... many of you know that the wonderful Lin is retiring and sadly the shop is closing ... could be sooner than expected too ... apparently the shelves are beginning to look very bare indeed! So ... if you want a bargain ... you better hurry up!
I did manage to finish on a high ...with a sell out class and a fabulous group of ladies ... mind you ... all my ladies are always fabulous ... so ... if you ever attended one of my classes ... Thank you ... I had a ball! A big THANK YOU to the wonderful Lin too ... for having faith in me and the lovely Karen ... for being lovely ... always!
Now for the card ... Shabby Shutters Distress Stains ... Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink ... a spritz of Heirloom Gold Perfect Pearls ... Some Pool and Lettuce colour wash all mixed up with some The Wendy Vecchi stamps ... and a few glorious PaperArtsy flowers thrown in for good measure ... and Bob's your Uncle! Nearly forgot ... the Lord Tim of Holtz clock die ... you know Tim ... the man that determines the weather worldwide on a daily basis while creating all the waves in all the seas with just a long legged brad and a mini paperclip.
I must way ... you can put your hands down now ...

Disaaaaarster!
About three weeks ago I made my project ... at the eleventh hour ... I realised I had got the wrong week ... horror of horrors ... I had to make something else in a bit of a hurry for a completely different theme!
Anyways ... there I was ... in my hurry ... dumped me star project on the side and got on making summink else. Well ... where I dumped it ... kind of grew into one of those crafty dumping places ... went to get it out to photograph this week and it has STUFF stuck to it and needs rather a large amount of repair work ... so I made this card instead! Crisis averted!
Not sure you can see the beautiful sparkle from the Ranger Perfect Pearls mist that I used ... I used The Wendy Vecchi's Botanical Art Stamps and Lord Tim of Holtz Distress Inks ... you know Tim ... the man that can hop from star to star without a safety net while polishing the moon with just a spot of Black Enamel Accents and an inch long piece of Tissue Tape.
Do join us for the challenge this week ... you would be in with a chance of winning a $50 Shopping Spree to be converted into wonderful crafty stash courtesy of Simon Says Stamp.
Have a good week people!

Perfect Pearls!
Well people … you will be pleased to hear that I got through the rest of Monday without drama and boy did I sleep well last night! So this morning I am full of the joys of Spring!
Which leads me nicely on to my rather Spring like card! Did you see what I did there? With the link? You know like one Spring to another! I may have discovered a new talent … for links … I am thinking a job in breakfast TV maybe … sat on the red sofa with Bill!!!
This card was THE BEST FUN to make …The stamps are indeed THE Wendy Vecchi … with lots of sprays and stains … the Lord Tim of Holtz variety of course … you know Tim … the man that can give the Pied Piper a run for his money while driving the US Presidents car over lumps and bumps in the road without banking it with just a spritz of Perfect Pearls Mist and a swoosh of Distress Stain. I know the card looks a bit dark in the picture … but that was the best way to photograph it to get the Perfect Pearls mist to show up!
It is a good job I blogged today … I cannot be the only one that loses track of the date … had I not blogged I would n’t have realised it is my friend’s birthday tomorrow … that has added a few items to my to do list I can tell you … I have n’t even got her present yet … worse still … I have no clue what I am going to buy! Anyone got any ideas? … she is n’t crafty … which is a huge shame … because then I would know exactly what to get!
Don’t forget to check out the Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge this week if you get time … we are doing an Ode to THE Wendy Vecchi’s style … I have seen a few comments where some are worried they cannot enter because they don’t have any THE Wendy Vecchi stamps … as shocking as that is to me to hear … I can confirm that you really can do The whole Wendy thing with any stamp you like!
Right … I am away …

**Halo Alert**
If I am entirely honest ... most of the jobs I have crossed off said list still need the I's dotting and the T's crossed but a big chunk of them is now done!
So before I snuggle down to watch some TV ... I have taped the first two episodes of The Apprentice ... so don't tell me what happens ... I thought I would indulge in a spot of blogging!
The stamped flowers on the card are Dark Room Door and they are coloured with Lord Tim of Holtz's Wild Honey and Vintage Photo Distress Stain. You know Tim ... the man that can walk to the Moon while performing three kidney transplants on kitten triplets with just a Tiny Attacher and a Fragmented Doll!
I even got my Martha Stewart punch out on this card ... I have n't done that in a while! Yeah ... I know ... I should stop now because I am just rambling ...
Righty-Ho then ... I think that is me ...

Green Overload!
I should apologise too ... I don't get around to leaving as many comments on your blogs as I used to ... I do visit ... but usually on my IPhone and I don't always have time to say anything! Which is completely unacceptable really seeings as I LOVE comments so much! Note to self ... Must try harder!
Mmmmm! I think I may have over done the whole green thing on this card! I LOVE the design ... but the colour ... well ... I am not entirely sure! In fact ... I am nowhere near sure! What say you? John was n't very complimentary either ... in fact ... he was quite rude ... one of those times when I really wished I had n't asked!
Maybe the Peeled Paint Kraft Resist Stash background is just a little bit too busy for the rest of the card! I should say Lord Tim of Holtz's Kraft Resist Stash ... you know Tim ... the man that can make the sun shine in the darkest of caves while performing neurosurgery on a mosquito with just a long-legged brad and a distress tool.
So ... What you up to? ... crafting anyone? I am! All day! Not being quite as productive as I would like ... but I am getting there slowly! Talking about being productive ... I ought to get back to it!

Vintage Pink to Make the Boys Wink!
Most of the stamps on the background are Lord Tim of Holtz ... you know Tim ... the man that can teach Princess Beatrice what NOT to wear while extending the life of the entire world's butterfly population with just a Jump Ring and one or two accoutrements!
The corset/mannekin stamp is indeed The Wendy Vecchi with some trim and those ickle biddy flowers are also Wendy's ... stamped on white shrink plastic with Stazon ink and edged with Gold Krylon! Soooo cute!
The squares and the border of the card ... the stitching bit was done with a pokey tool and a white pen ... not a sewing machine! I will let you into a secret ... it did cross my mind to get the sewing machine out and actually use it! But when I finally located it in my Craftroom and saw the pile of stuff it was under ... well ... I changed my mind pretty sharpish I can tell you! So Faux stitching to the rescue ... again! It is shameful really ... I stamped and wailled that I neeeeeeeeded said sewing machine and I have used it ... erm ... once ... in about five years! Shameful I tell you!
LOVED all your comments yesterday ... it was so lovely hearing all your stories of how you watched the wedding and what you thought of the dresses etc., it felt like a truly global celebration! Thing is ... now I am ready for the wedding of Prince Harry to the delightful Pippa! They made such a handsome looking couple and Chelsea Davy looked like she had n't been near a hair brush in about a week ... not suitable as a Princess at all!
Only five more sleeps and I shall be off to Holland ... never been there before ... so the excitement is building! Have a good one people!

Totally Tim!
The background colour is made using a mixture of Distress Inks and then stamped with Vintage Photo!
This card was inspired by a card I saw in an old copy of Stampers Sampler ... the original was made by Shannon Sawyer and even though by the time I had finished ... it looked nothing like Shannon's lovely card ... in fact ... she may be shrieking at the screen at this very moment "Not in my name" ... I wanted to share!
What a shame it looks like rain for the royal wedding ... we have had such a long spell of sunshine here ... you would have thought that the Queen could pre-book the sunshine! I don't mean to whinge ... but damp weather plays havoc with my hair ... and my bridesmaid head wear will get all limp! Having said that ... I don't like the heat either ... it does unsightly things to my ankles!!!
So ... c'mon spill ... what you doing on Friday? Street Party? BBQ? Or have you been invited? That would be so cool ... if someone that was actually invited came on my little ole blog!
Righty-ho then ... I must away ... still tweaking classes ready for the release of the new season of classes at LB Crafts on Saturday 14th May 2011. They will, of course be ready for preview a week earlier ... as usual ... blimey ... that does n't leave much time!

A Card in under 15 Minutes!
1. Cut a white card blank 12,5cm (5") by 25cm (10") and score at 12.5cm (5"). I reckon that takes about 1.5 minutes.
2. Cut a black square of card 10.5cm (4-2/8") and stick it on the front. Where are we now? About another minute!
3. Cut a white card 10cm (4") square and spray with Dylusions Post Box Red then blitz with your heat gun. That should take you up to about 5.5 minutes in total!
4. Stamp Lord Tim of Holtz Itty Bitty grunge stamps randomly over the red square ... You know Tim ... the man that can paint the ceiling in the Sistene Chapel ceiling in 10 minutes while listing the world's football teams with just a Philosophy Tag and a mini clip. I used Ranger Maroon archival ... distressed the edges with an edge distresser then blended a bit of Fired Brick around each side before stamping the Birthday Text. Where are we ... about 8.5 minutes.
5. Finally I stamped the little Stampotique man ... cut him out ... coloured him in ... and stuck him on with 3d foam pads! He took 5 minutes tops which takes us to 13.5 minutes in total!
You can of course substitute the little Stampotique man for virtually anything ... not the most exciting of designs ... but I would be happy to send it!
Thought I might have thought of something to say at this point ... but no ... I promise to try harder tomorrow ... In fact I will most probably have too much to say tomorrow ... I am out for a girlie day and a spot of shopping with the Wonderful Lin and the Lovley Karen!

The Wanderer Returns!
Apparently the problem was a crank shaft sensor ... I got the call this morning ... only £150 including VAT ... phew I thought! Then Mr Garage Mechanic made that awful sucking through his teeth sound and I had to sit down!
Righty-Ho ... talking of classes ... I am in full swing designing my next release that will be available for booking at LB Crafts in early May!

Happy Birthday!
I thought I would join in the Simon Says Stamp challenge this week as it is in honour of Lol's Birthday! Lols runs the site ... and I had the pleasure of lunching with her at CHA ... So Happy Birthday Lols! I would sing at this point ... but as you all know ... I am completely tone deaf and sing like a football hooligan ... and it would be just plain cruel to put Lols through that ... especially on her big day!
My card is packed to the rafters with Graphic 45 Curtain Call papers and stamps ... I totally adore their 8 X 8 pad ... which is the perfect size for making cards and all manner of other things ... but also being far easier to cut into than a pristine sheet of 12 X 12 ... don't ask me why ... that is just the way it is! I have distressed the edges and blended in some Vintage Photo Distress Ink to add to the whole aged effect! The Old Orleans badge is indeed a Lord Tim of Holtz Salvage Sticker ... which fitted in rather nicely! You know Tim ... the man that can win the Cricket world cup single handedly while nailing down the Grand Slam ... alone ... with just an edge distresser and a philosophy token.
Talking of Birthdays ... it's mine next week :0) I thought I would just mention it :0) Anyways ... I have a whole present worrying thing going on here! John ALWAYS asks me what I want and I ALWAYS give him a humungus list ... do you remember last year? ... he got me the whole set of THE Wendy Vecchi stamps ... well this year ... he has n't asked! Which means one of two things ... one ... that he has forgotten my birthday completely ... in which case I will kill him ... slowly and painfully ... or two ... he has got me a surprise ... YIKES! Bless him ... he tries ... but the boy ain't great on surprises and I am frantically trying to work out what I may/may not have inferred that I needed! You know like make-up ... underwear ... clothes ... coz to me ... they are necessities ... and not worthy of the whole surprise present thing ... they are just stuff that I have to buy on non-birthday days ... and to be truthful ... the first year we got together ... he bought me a surprise ... clothes ... and it was very surprising just how awful they were ... OH MY WORD ... he should have a sensor implanted ... you know that like buzzes when he goes in a woman's clothes shop ... his taste is that bad!!
Enough with my waffle already ...

Snow Stops Play ...
Sadly our Christmas feast was disrupted yesterday by the snow and freezing conditions in Kent. Instead of our usual group ... it ended up with just the three of us ... but we still managed to eat ... drink and make merry ... raising a glass to absent friends ... oh and Tina :0)
Luckily my Secret Santa weathered the storm ... so I got to play with some of it today. I have wanted this little Stampotique Crown ever since I first laid eyes on it ... and once in my grubby little mitts ... well I could n't wait to start playing ... lucky I have left my Christmas cards till the last minute again then huh????
These cards really did only take minutes to make ... white card squares sprayed with different Dylusions watercolour Sprays ... building them up and splattering them too ... then stamping and colouring in Rocky ... at least I think he is called Rocky and adding the crown to turn him into a king ... bit of doodling and ta da ... finis!!!
I am off to stroke the IPad that Santa has bought me for Christmas ... it is still in the box ... and I have been told in no uncertain terms that it has to stay in said box until Christmas day ... Talk about torture!
Have a good evening all and stay warm ...

A Day with The Wendy Vecchi!
Oh yes ... I know I said I was going to do the Christmas shopping ... well if I am completely honest ... I did n't get as much done as I would have liked ... in fact ... I did n't get any done ... John had car issues and I was looking for any excuse ... quite frankly ... to stay home and play.
So ... instead of fighting through the hoards of Christmas Shoppers ... in the cold ... I sat in my snug and warm craft room and played with The Wendy Vecchi Studio 490 stamps! It might not sound like it ... but it was proper work I was doing :0)
LB Crafts is joining the shops in Olney for a Dickens of a Christmas this Sunday ... I have n't been before ... but it all sounds very lovely ... I am hoping it will get me in the spirit of the season ... because ... to be honest ... I am not really there yet. Anyways ... I will be demoing my socks off in the wonderful Lin's shop ... she has 15% off all non sale items too ... and playing with Distress Ink and Studio 490 stamps ... two of my favourite things ... so the cards shown are just a couple of the samples ... I told you it was work! Do pop in ... Olney really is a beautiful place ... and it would be great to see you!
I really need to Thank The Wendy Vecchi while I am here ... the background scallop jobby with the red paper and the film strip is indeed from her wonderful book ... I find so much inspiration in her books and she is now writing her fourth ... I for one CANNOT wait :0)
Sadly I am now way behind on Lord Tim of Holtz's 12 tags ... you know Tim ... the man that can back flip off the Empire State Building while decorating the Christmas tree in Central Park with just a jump ring and a smidgeon of Red Pepper Alcohol Ink. I soooo plan to catch up soon ...
Righty-Ho ... I am doing a workshop tomorrow ... so best I get some sleep ...

Rainy Days and Mondays!
Well ... Did n't I say last week that I was going to blog everyday in November? Did n't I say that? And have I just managed 8 days on the trot for the first time in ... erm ... like ages ... Oh yes people ... we are on a roll!
The new challenge that has just been set over at The Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge Blog this week (at least I hope it has ... or I have pushed the wrong buttons) is "Your Favourite Lord Tim of Holtz Stamp". You know Tim ... the man that can transform a bit of old wood into a solid gold nugget while entertaining small and needy children with just a Bedazzle bead and a 3d foam pad.
My favourite Lord Tim stamp is indeed the rain man ... not his proper title you understand ... but the one with which I like to address him :0) I have gone a bit Steampunk again ... mainly because John ... who never gets excited by the stuff I make ... actually got all excited by my last Steampunk attempt ... even uttered words like Jules, Gabriel and Verne ... so I reckon this may just get put to one side for the next time he celebrates something or indeed I just feel like sending him a card!!!
Righty ho then ... do join in with the challenge this week if you get chance ... there is another fabulous prize donated by Simon Says Stamp ... and who knows ... it may be your lucky week!

My Cockles are Warm!
Oh yes people ... someone well and truly went and made my day ... They did in fact warm the cockles of my heart!
They don't have a blog ... so I can't add a link ... but one of the comments from yesterday's post read ... and I quote "the card is great-love your narrations-I feel like we are sitting there having tea (coffee for me please). Thank you for sharing yourself with all us." Now when I set this blog up ... several years ago now ... July 2007 ... I think ... I called it a Crafting Journey and added the strap line ... with coffee breaks along the way! Linda ... that was who left the comment ... no ... it was n't me ... ratified that I have finally achieved what I set out to achieve ... and I am dead chuffed ... so Linda ... wherever you are ... THANK YOU!
Now ... today's card is take two of my entry to Theme Thursday ... if you popped by yesterday ... you will have acknowledged my self professed Numpty status when I made a card for the previous weeks challenge ... der!!!
So I have checked and double checked and the Theme this week is definitely red and black ... and my card definitely qualifies ... phew!
The background was made using Dylusion's Pomegranate spray ink ... Yummy ... and Lord Tim of Holtz's Bitty Grunge stamp set ... you know Tim ... the man that could visit 6 Primary school assemblies ... all on the same day and all at the same time with just a miniscule amount of Black Enamel Accents and the packaging from a set of foundations!
The characters are indeed Stampotique and rather than start that whole cute but not debate ... I need to tell you that one of them is supposed to look like a girl ... they don't do a little short girl so I thought a ribbon bandana and a bead necklace would do the trick! I know the beads look a bit like a beard in the picture ... but trust me ... in real life ... it ...erm ... really ... erm ... does n't!
C'mon you guys ... what craftiness are you planning on this weekend? Tell us ... you know how I like to know these things!

Kinda Cute ... But Not!
LOVE this little chap ... rather more than is healthy to be honest ... and he may well appear on just about everything I make from here on in! Actually he probably won't ... to be fair ... he is not everyone's cup of tea! Great for a boy card though! And we all know how tricky they are ... Don't we! I wonder why that is??? He is in fact sporting a hat stamp designed by THE Wendy Vecchi ... LOVE Wendy's stuff!
As you can see I went to town with the Ranger Black Enamel Accents ... I was n't too keen when I first purchased them ... but now I am sold! The background was made by spraying Vanilla Custard Dylusions ink spray ... LOVE that stuff ... onto white card and then adding some Wild Honey Distress Ink over the top blended through sequin waste. The letters are from the Sizzix Carnival Die and the background stamps are all Lord Tim of Holtz ... you know Tim ... the man that can turn rain into wine while rescuing stranded golfers on the Ryder cup course with just a Word Stick and a pair of Tonic Studio Non Stick Scissors ... LOVE Lord Tim ... but then you knew that anyway :0)
Talking of cards ... I have one spot left on my BLine Designs card class on Monday ... if anyone wants it ... please ring the Lovely Karen at LB Crafts. LOVE Karen!
That's me for today ... I am all out of LOVE ... you see I am still singing ... and this probably ends my musical week ...

Starry Starry Night!
See ... that is a song and for once I actually know who sang it ... Don Maclean!
It rates as one of my all time favourites and I would even go so far as saying ... if I ever make it as a Breakfast Weather Girl ... and get invited onto Desert Island Discs ... well I shall be picking that song ... there you go ... you heard it here first!
I am not a big fan of making my own Christmas cards ... I get bored very quickly ... and to keep changing styles all the time ... well it is time consuming and a tad untidy! So this year I have come up with a plan ... Keep them simple ... yet fun!
This one is all about the background. The sky is Chipped Sapphire ... stamped with Gold Dabber ... and dotted with a Ranger white pen ... then I have Distress Stickled it all over ... very messy ... just the way I like it! Chipped Sapphire is indeed a Lord Tim of Holtz Distress Ink ... you know Tim ... the man that can entertain an entire cruise ship while conversing with the entire population of sea creatures with just a single ticket from his tickets strip die and the P of a pricking tool!
The stamps I have used are the Darkroom Door Christmas Reindeer Collection! Talking of collections ... what collections of songs would you choose for Desert Island Discs? ... I must away ... I am part way through a secret squirrel project ... and I really should get it finished!
Have a fab evening y'all

Tuesday ... Tuesday!
Is that a song? Or ... Did I just make it up? :0)
Okay ... Who stole Tuesday ... I spent half the day looking for my list of stuff to do and the other half of the day avoiding the list that I found ... coz there was n't much on it that I really fancied doing!
Now I am rushing about like a loon ... trying to catch up before bed and I start all over again!
I thought I would just quickly share this card with you ... Lord Tim of Holtz's Crushed Olive Distress ink ... you know Tim ... the man that can walk on the Thames while carving Pumpkins for all the world's under privileged children with just an Idea-ology Bauble and some Hobgoblin Tissue Tape. The stamps are indeed Darkroom Door. I should apologise really for the reflection on the Ghetto Blaster ... that is a result of all the Glossy Accents I have applied ... Yes ... I am still in my Glossy Accent phase ... as for Ghetto Blaster ... now I am showing my age too ... What do you call it?
Well ... that is me for today ... I am off to play with some dye inks ... cool huh?

Red, White and Blue!
Well ... I did n't actually get around to finishing this card last night ... kind of got sidetracked looking at the massive array of challenge blogs out there ... and by the time I got up this morning ... well ... I saw that Hel's Sunday Stamper Challenge also had a theme of Red and Blue today!
So ... just the one card for two challenges ... I hope that is allowed ... the other challenge I am entering is The Create 4 Fun challenge and their theme this week is Red, White and Blue.
Was n't it Oscar Wilde who once said "Life imitates Art far more than Art imitates Life" ... I have a huge problem calling what I do art ... "artwork" sits far more comfortably with me and the art that I worked with on this occasion was Rachel Greig's fabulous Darkroom Door Rockstar stamp collection ... again!
As for imitating life ... well my thoughts were dominated yesterday by memories of 911 and a great sadness for all the victims and their families ... and the shock that our American friends must have suffered on that dreadful day ... so I kind of guess that is where my stars and stripes originated from.
Have a good Sunday everyone ...

The Allsorts Challenge!
I found myself at a bit of a loose end tonight! John has had to go into work to do a nightshift and I am not really a Last Night at the Proms kind of girl! I am not really a Rock Chick either but I managed to entertain myself by playing with Darkroom Door's wonderful Rockstar stamp collection. Did you see what I did there ... Rock Chick ... Rockstar ... What a link ... I could sooooo do Breakfast TV you know!
Anyways ... After doing a spot of blog hopping and struggling to leave comments ... Mr Blogger had either ideas ... again ... Grrr! I decided to enter this week's Allsorts Challenge which is Autumn Colours.
Out came some white card ... Rusty Hinge ... Forest Moss and Stormy Sky ... a few bits of Lord Tim of Holtz's tissue tape ... you know Tim the man that can sing Opera like an angel while piecing together every instrument required in an orchestra with just a Jet Black Archival ink pad and an ink blending tool.
So ... What to do now? ... the night is still young ... I may make another card ... unless of course you have a better idea ...
