Simply Amazing!

WOW! What a wedding! How amazing was that! We may not be good at organising road repairs or other day to day stuff ... but we sure can lay on a fabulous royal wedding!
The bride looked stunning in her McQueen dress and what a fabulous tribute to the late fashion designer!
And the groom ... well don't get me started ... having felt compelled all those years ago to get to London by whatever means necessary to pay a personal tribute to Diana ... well ... she would have been soooooo proud of both her boys today ... and I have to admit ... I pretty much cried from start to finish! As for the new titles ... Duke and Duchess of Cambridge ... C'mon ... Hands up ... Who heard it here first :0) I am incredibly proud that they have that title ... having been born in Cambridge ... well it just makes the whole day even more special!
Onto crafting royalty now ... I am giving you a heads up ... just in case you have n't seen it ... THE Wendy Vecchi has reached her 700th post! If you pop over there and congratulate her ... you could win ... drum roll please ... a Vagabond donated by the ever generous Simon Says Stamp! Wendy has added her own candy as second prize ... but I have my eye on that ... so if you win ... expect a visit :0) In all seriousness it was THE Wendy Vecchi who truly bought Grunge paper to life for me ... she is my inspiration ... one of the nicest ... most genuine people I have had the pleasure of spending time with and UBER talented! Way To Go Wendy!
Are you impressed? I even managed to remember to blog the tag book from inside yesterday's Maya Road house ... or should I say Hice! The chip tags were stained ... inked and spritzed into submission and then stamped with Lord Tim of Holtz's Bitty Grunge ... you know Tim ... the man that stopped the rain from falling during the Royal Wedding while ensuring the sun shone at exactly the right time with just a Charm Clip and a Bauble! The other stamps used are indeed THE Wendy Vecchi!
Right ... I have spent far too long sat gawping at the big screen this morning ... I need to go do some work! Oh! Oh! Before you go ... opinions of THE dress please ... in the comments ... I tried discussing it with John ... but he is more interested in the bloomin snooker!
Laters!

Hi Linda, well what a day! Completely agree with you that Diana would have been so proud and delighted with her boys and she would have finally got the daughter she longed for. I cried a lot too :).

And the dress? I think it was just perfect. Not too fussy, not too grand, and it speaks volumes about the kind of person she is - classy and grounded.

Love, Helen x

Loving your 'family' art book.
I too made it to london after Diana passed and thought it a real shame she didn't get to see her boy get married but she would of been so so proud i think.
As for Kate dress, I thought she looked amazing, I like that it had an almost 50's styling with the pretty lace

I thought the dress was perfect - understated, elegant, beautiful. I agree, Diana would have been very proud of how William and Harry have grown up. Whatever anyone says about him, I think Charles has a lot to say in that.
Oh, and your tags are beautiful too.

Loved the tag book - such a great idea. Liked the instruction to turn the page! I loved the wedding - thought William looked so handsome and such a romantic Prince for his bride! Kate's dress was so understated - very Grace Kelly! Though... Beatrice's hat was truly hideous!

Dress was beautiful We thought it reminiscent of Princess Margaret's with a bit of the Queen's. It was so unfussy and suited the occasion perfectly. Loved her sister's dress too!

Call me mad - but I though it was all wonderful...very exciting, romantic and fairy-tale like. What must she have thought walking into the Abbey and then on the balcony? Thought of Diana too, was so glad it all went safely and it was great to see such a buzz and joy in London - we all needed a day like this - what's wrong with a bit of Monarchy and patriotic pride???? The Dress was just perfect - can't wait to see the lace in detail. Apparently it is embroidered with shamrocks, daffodils and roses. Big sighs...and back to Distress inks.

Fabulous tag book - colours are so yummy.

Sat glued to the TV for the wedding itself but then had to break off and do taxi service for daughter. Came back with the intention of doing some work but then sat watching the highlights of bits I'd missed.
As for the dress it was simply stunning - very understated and elegent - like the bride. Thought Pippa's dress was fabulous too and the little bridesmaids were divine.

Fabulous piece of work Linda.

The dress was just stunning - so elegant and unfussy. Her sister and the little bridesmades were sweet and I liked that the flowers were very simple as well. As you say - we can put on a bit of a do!

i was lucky enough to see Diana once - she visited Basingstoke in connection with the national Childbirth Trust, and had a ringside view at the edge of the pavement.

The wedding was incredible! I woke my daughters (age 8 and 5) up at 5:30 to watch it with me. We were riveted, pausing only to have some English muffins and tea for breakfast. It was an incredible ceremony and the royal couple were an inspiration. It was a great way to start the day.

love the tag book! loved the wedding...the dress was fab - so classy, simple and elegant, the princes were handsome, beatrice and eugenia were hysterical, a delightful day....my little sister and I watched the Diana wedding in the middle of the night all those years ago...she was just 17, entering her last year of high school, and i was 25 and eight months pregnant with my son...we had a slumber party that night and did a repeat on thursday/friday morning. (TV coverage started at 2am here....when William and Harry left Clarence House at 4:10 am we cheered so loudly we woke my husband and son....fortunately for us, we get the BBC on cable, so we could have your lovely accents on the narration - i know, i know, you think we are the onew with accents!) It was all delightful....only thing we can´t figure out is what kind of flowers were in her bouquet..we think we see lilies of the valley, but also something bigger....have tried to google it and cannot find a listing...perhaps some of you can help! have a great week...

Sorry I'm a bit late with my comment Linda but I've had a very important Bride to Be here since Friday (my daugher). The Wedding we are planning is only two weeks next Saturday and is the main reason my blog hopping has been curtailed of late. I thought Kate's dress was stunning and absolutely perfect for her. Although I was a Diana fan I have never got over the monstrosity that was her wedding dress so I was really pleased to see that Kate was true to herself and her own personality. The best part of the whole thing for me was how happy and comfortable together William and Kate looked and I think that is what Diana would have wanted for her son(s) above all else.

Your family tags are great. Love the colours and the stamps used.
