Steam Flunk ... Again!

SF1a

Blimey ... what is it with me and Steam punk? ... I saw the gothic arch challenge this week was Steam Punk ... and I thought ... it's been a while since my failed attempt ... I shall give it another go.

All was well with the arch and the TSS mould ... my lovely new gold metal and the Terra ... I was thinking time machine ... in a Steam punk kind of a way ... a bit of black acrylic paint and then the clock parts and Tim's Idea-ology cogs ... you know Tim ... the man that can time travel with just a glittery foam sticker thing and some Brushed Corduroy distress ink. SF1

Still on track I thought ... then the I got a bit side tracked looking through my Crafty Individuals piccies and before you know it ... I had attached a Wendy Vecchi Grunge paper butterfly ... some pearl beads and ... well the track had well and truly been lost at that point!

Hey ho ... now do I link it to the challenge? ... or do I not? Decisions! Decisions!

I'm still smiling by the way :0) Did you see him? What did you buy? What are you going to buy? Who rang in? Who got a text on the telly? C'mon spill ... that is all of Lord Tim Holtz in the UK for this year ... I need to get my Timmy fix somehow ... I know ... let's talk about him non stop ... Whadyamean? I do already :0)

I bet you are still on such a high that you haven't slept for days LOL

Looking forward to meeting you sometime this year.

I hope you make time for your other half as well as lusting after the illustrious Tim.

Off to look up the actual meaning of the Steampunk fetish - love yours!

xx

What a fab piece Linda, it's gorgeous.
Didn't see him, TSV and stamps (inks sold out too quickly), inks. Too shy to ring in, sent a card instead (Mario showed it on twitter, pic on my blog). I love reading your imaginative descriptions of Tim, I don't know how you come up with them all.

Love your tag Linda and it still looks Steam Punky to me but .........whado I know?

As for Sir Tim, as I'm laid up after a bad slip in the snow and ice yesterday, I've been able to watch him and his friends all day without feeling any guilt pangs at all. Mind you the money I spent on his TSV and some of Claudine's paints and canvas made me feel a bit guilty, Lol!

This looks pretty darn steampunky to me! I am in love with that TSS mold - with the black paint it really looks like individual gears. Very cool!

Wow I love this ... Tim really inspires you.
Was strong willed and hid the phone ...really had no spare money and the cats would have had to starve. I wanted so much but I knew as soon as I gave in to 1, I would buy 10 ....I'm week like that ...cant eat one choccy either ...need the whole box.
I nearly gave in ....I wanted the TSV ,grunge paper, spritzers, all the new inkpads to name but a few ....and I so wanted a melting pot and all the bits ...and the enbossing sissix and the big one ...and all the bits .... NOW do you see why I didnt buy anything!!!

You bet you link it. It looks great. Saw some of Tim, didn't buy - most things went too quick, TSV gone by the time I got home.

This is great Linda. I just love cogs and wheels.
I was of course one of those people who stayed up into the night to watch 'The One and Only' I managed to get all the new inks, grungepaper and the Shabby French stamps. My life is now somewhat more complete.
I was frustrated not to see as much demonstrating as I would have liked because everything sold out so fast. They should have had 3 times as much stock at least.
Anyway I have kept my recorded programme so I can look at it whenever I need a bit of a lift.
I'm with Hels though we should all go on a pilgrimage to see him!

Looks like it fits the steam punk bill to me - fab piece! That mould is tempting me to get in to metal too, would you please stop using it? ;o) Can't bear shopping telly I'm afraid so no, I didn't see him, sounds like you might have made room in your schedule though!

Good gawd Linda this is stunning! Enter it - enter I say. I would class it as very much Steam punk. Only you could come up with a punked butterfly! I love, love, love it!

Did I mention I love it?

Liverpool Lou (Anne) said...

Definitely link it, it's fab ;) Aren't butterflies allowed with steam punk - whatever that is! I kinda get the idea but how do you define it? As for Tim defo watched. You could always watch his demo vids over and over LOL

Effie said...

That is one super cool Gothic arch!

Rosie said...

You know, that's a really cool arch, despite the butterfly!! It's a hard style to get into if you're not really that way inclined (and I love it, but can't really do it!). Give me grunge any day!
O wish Ti hadn't been so overshadowed by the women - it spoil it for me... >.<

this is great. As for Sir tim, he was very yummy indeed, I managed a little drool before I went to work and again when I got home - damn the job, getting in the way.
So jealous you got to spend time with him "in the flesh baby" but so glad you had a great time.
