Mmmm ... It Seemed Like a Good Idea ...

... At the time! Do you know anyone quite as daft as me? Please don't actually answer that ... not out loud anyway! As you are all probably aware ... I set the challenges at Simon Says Stamp and Show ... usually months in advance ... and when I set them ... well ... I have a vague idea of what I may make. On this occassion ... I saw the theme and well ... to say I was a teensy bit panic stricken is an understatement! Bling??? I don't often do bling! Blimey ... Where to start!
Anyways ... after the initial panic subsided ... and I am doing rather a lot of that at the moment ... panicking I mean ... I set about turning a chunky mini canvas into a chunky ATC.
With THE Wendy Vecchi stamps and Fired Brick Distress Ink ... I added a frame around the Lord Tim of Holtz script stamp ... you know Tim ... the man that can tame King Kong from the top of the Empire State Building while putting the sparkle on all the stars ... in all the sky ... by hand with just a smidgeon of Jet Black Archival and a spot of Black Enamel Accents.
I have just watched Sleepless in Seattle ... not a great move on my part ... especially after a glass or two of Rose ... hence the King Kong reference ... but that is a whole nother story!
So people ... bearing in mind the title of this blog post ... do tell ... what have you done??? ... that seemed like a great idea at the time??? ... the funnier the better really ... a girl needs a laugh! Oh and don't forget to check out the rest of the amazing team's work at Simon Says Stamp and Show ... if you enter ... you could win a $50 shopping spree donated by the wonderful site sponsor ... Simon Says Stamp.
I must away ... I have classes to design ... I cannot believe the new season is nearly upon us ... exactly where did the last three months go???
Laters!

Take care, hope to see you soon!

A great job! I think you need to rethink your film watching for a while, comedy is what the world needs! Morecome and Wise, goes down a treat, good clean mindless fun. The world is a better place for laughter! Or on u-tube I have been watching Take Heart re runs, do you remember Tony Heart, or are you too young? A clever arty man I enjoyed watching as a child! Anyway waffle, waffle, great canvas!

Um, where do I start on my it seemed a good idea at the time moments??? Well there was the time at uni when a strange boy (they weren't really men at that age) knocked on my door in halls and asked if he could borrow a bra and I said yes! Oh and there's that time drinking lambrini mid morning in the union bar seemed a good idea ... I could go on for ever! hugs jo xx

Love it! Also, Sleepless in Seattle is a great movie, if you are in a very up mood. I loved that movie and watched it after I lost my husband and it set me off for the day. Sigh. But I must say, It makes me want to live in Seattle on a house boat!

Super take on bling, Linda - red is my favorite color so I'm loving this delightful piece. The chunky ATC is a great approach and you can't go wrong with red, flowers and butterflies - at least in my way of thinking - LOL!

Great take on the bling challenge!

Hugs,
Linda

Nah honey, this ain't bling. It just isn't. Bling is over the top and very VERY sparkly. I like this though, especially the red.

Seemed we all had a last minute faint, sweat and dither over the Bling... but it was a fun one too. Dug out some teenage pics...I'd say I lost it when I chose white leggings with yellow pointy shoes and plucked off all my eyebrows. I was 13 - it felt cool...

Lovely work, I also teach and have been doing so for quite some time but at the moment my craft clubs seem to be taking over. I love the arty techniques which is very me and hopefully I will be incorporating some of these arty pieces in my cottage renovations.

I look forward to following your blogs
