Ye Days of Olde!

A long time ago on a desk not far from here ... OK ... it's the same desk in the same place ... but I am going for effect here ... *clears throat*
A long time ago on a desk not far from here ... before the wheel was even invented ... I used to pay weekly homage to Julia of Dunnit ... the illustrious leader of the desk march. Time passed and I lost my way ... I was trapped in a blinkered busyness that forbade me to enjoy the weekly desk perusal and the curse of guilt of not being able to return visits kept me trapped for a very loooooooong time! *Dims lights* Luckily I left a trail of Bedazzles and I managed to retrace my steps ... and here I am!
Yup WOYWWers ... remember me ... I am back! Well for this week any road! I have promised myself plenty of time to visit/nosey/heckle/envy my fellow deskians and I am unnecessarily excited about the whole prospect!
So ... fan fare please ... in true WOYWW style ... On my desk ... apart from the usual mess is the beginnings of a journal page and all the gubbings that I needed to get that far on said page! Obviously I have taken a break to chat to you lot ... but I may come back later if I get it finished!
I also have a little game for you guys to play ... see this glass jar ... gift from Korea ... and after the whole Green Tea Crisp fiasco ... if you missed it ... you can read all about it here ... I thought I would ask you ... What you think you should do with it! Answers on a postcard ... or just in the comments ... Yeah ... see ... this whole gift thing can be a bit of a minefield!
It really is good to be back ... look forward to seeing all your desks... and if you have no clue what I am on about ... all will be revealed here!
Have a good Wednesday ...
Laters!

This made me chuckle...thank you for brightening this dull, damp day.

As to the jar - I wouldn't like to hazzard a guess LOL

Mmmm.... Looks like it may contain curious foodstuff. If in doubt baste it on top of chicken - that way everyone gets to share in the (potential) delights!!! Though my children did say if it was mine they'd rather I kept it on my desk!!!

It's Citron jam .. In Korea, it is used to create yujacha, a type of Korean tea. The fruit is thinly sliced (peel, pith and pulp) and soaked or cooked in honey or sugar to create a chunky syrup. This syrupy candied fruit is mixed with hot water as a fragrant tea, where the fruit at the bottom of the cup is eaten as well. Often preserved in the syrup for the cold months, yujacha is served as a source of fruit in winter. :) and it is way yummy iced too :)

Your journal promises to be a object of beauty to be treasured - TFS - as for the jar? Wouldn't like to guess, with the lemons on the front, could it be some kind of marmalade? #4

Has to think marmalade for the jar but the whole tea thingy sounds interesting.
Love the journal. Tried to do one myself but am afraid I stopped after the front cover and really just use it as a sort of diary and challenge book but as it is nearly full now maybe I ought to try being more adventurous.
Thsnks for stopping by my desk (53)

so glad you jumped back in the pool :D. Bedazzles are sooo useful! And I can't tell you how tickled I am that you liked the lark joke lol. Love the journal I haven't ventured down that road yet. I'm going to guess orange marmalade, because it looks like orange marmalade and I've seen korean films where they had orange marmalade I'm sure lol. Perhaps a small cautious spoonful to make sure?

Ohhh Snap said...

*tutting at myself* forgot to say how completely in awe I am that your blog avatar is with the Crafty Superhero Himself!!!!

Lemon marmalade. And I'm with Brenda, thought you'd been 'touched' and decided WOYWW was a bit trivial..and then I remembered - you were already 'touched!! Glad you're not so busy - a journal, surely that means you actually have time to make art that isn't for demos lessons or giving away. Result!

Andria said...

Won't venture a guess on the jar, but wanted to let you know that I love the start of your journal spread. Would love to know what stamp that is in the corner...fabulous! Happy WOYWW!

I am with Joanne - feed it to 'im indoors and if he survives you know it is ok!! As for the busy in flop mode, my mother always told me that "the devil makes work for idle hands"!!! He creates enuff trouble in my life without that as well!! Thanks for your visit!! Will have to check on your journal now!! Nice to see you back!!

Jar could be jam or some kind of chutney or even some type of new TH distress crackle goo to play wit!! I'd let the dog sniff it and if he walks off try it on your journal page. Never know you might start some kind of new graze. Hugs Mrs A. #65
