Pingate!

WOYWW2704

I am well aware that only the WOYWW crew are likely to know what I am on about ... so I will set the scene. A few months back after waiting for an entire three hours for John to put a wood plinth up in my craft room I took matters into my own hands. I hung my up-cycled beer mats on my craft room wall with pins. Now the pins are not straight ... nor are they similar widths apart ... but the job was completed in five minutes and I was happy! KKa0705

Now John is an aircraft engineer ... he likes straight lines and jobs that get finished to a high standard ... he was NOT going to like my prettied up wall ... trust me! Anyways ... I shared my secret on my blog (he never reads it) and managed ... successfully ... I might add to keep John out of my craft room for the last eight weeks or so! I am on the third floor and on the couple of occasions I have heard him venture up the stairs I have successfully managed to tiptoe rapidly across the room and start walking downstairs in the opposite direction ... at which point he always turned around with me.

KKb0705 Now I have the attic room ... which has low ceilings and a flush light fitting. The light fitting is a circular thing with like a halo wotsit around it ... and it is a nightmare when changing a bulb. Well the bulb only went and blew late Tuesday night ... I bought a new bulb on Wednesday and smuggled it past John ... bless ... he is a helpful soul and would have offered to do the job for me ... which I clearly could n't allow for afore mentioned reasons. Well after struggling for about 20 minutes ... I gave up ... called John and decided to face the music. I waited with baited breath for the teeth sucking and the huffing ... but do you know ... his vein did n't even pulse in the side of his head ... no sign of anxious beads of sweat or nothing ... just ... well ... silence. Now I know he saw the pins ... their unevenness and the thirty something of them in the plasterboard wall ... that he will have to fill in the future ... but nothing ... nada .... zilch! Here we are entering into the weekend ... and still no word ... very strange ... so there you have it ... Pingate ... all's well that ends well!

I have just blogged the card for Creativity Boutique ... and I am now off to up-cycle more beer mats ... well ... in for a penny ... in for a pound :0)

Have a good weekend y'all.

Men are funny like that, they can walk around a cup they've left in the garage for weeks, but a DIY job tht they think we've bodged, ooh dearie me, they have palpitations! Love the card Linda, those dandelion heads are gorgeous, and the colours are fab. Judith xx

Linda
I love this card, such warm colours - gorgeous.

I think we've all been there with the DIY issues, my OH is also a perfectionist and takes ages to get round to jobs, but when he does them they are really great.

Aha! The silence is so much worse than the telling off isn't it? ROFL Perhaps John thought you had done such a sterling job that he didn't think that he needed to comment! Love your card hun, sorry not been by much recently, simple reason, I got abducted by cardboard Aliens who piled loads of boxes on top of me and then beggared off and left me... goodly exuse enough??? Trust me Linda, this isn't over!! You may come home one day to find it all neatly rerarranged, or worse, you'll be in a pub with twenty friends and he'llstart telling this story about how you can't even knoci in a row of staright pins and oh em gee....the non vein pulsating thing - in my house that would be a sign of things to come!!!!
No really, how great are they that they don't twitch anymore over our ridiculous 'do it now' jobs!!

I can imagine you creeping round the landing looking all guilty - how he's not noticed before now - heaven only knows - OR has he????

That's very funny! All that worry and subterfuge were completely wasted. But at least it's been fun for your readers!

Sorry I won't see you when you come over for Ranger U; next time leave some time to visit NYC!

You are too funny! I love to see them all lined up like that (even if they aren't lined up in a perfectly calculated line, LOL). Gorgeous!

Fabulous card!

Your post made me laugh so much as I can so relate to it. My OH insists on a spirit level, tape measure, pencil behind the ear etc etc - whereas I just think yep, that looks about right - and it usually is - just like your lovely display.

Methinks this is not the end of your story. He's just biding his time. I'm sure your lack of DIY prowess will appear sometime soon in an argument or 'discussion'!!
Lovely colours on your card BTW.

hahaha thats such a funny tale, straight lines are over rated! If he does say anything tell him a feng shui master told you to put them up lol

LMAO I bet he was shaking when he got downstairs. Fab card, love that stamp xx

Lovely warm colours here and the seed head stamp is just lovely! Glad the pins went unremarked - just hope he's not storing it up to use against you later!

LOve that piece ...amazing choice of paper for the butterfly ...and the background says a summer sunset to me.
Had to giggle over 'pingate'... is he saving up an IOU out of this ...or will he sneak up...while you are away maybe ....and sort it out to his satisfaction? I think he is not kicking up a fuss because he knows that IF he had done it for you ...quickly ....the pins would not now be sitting in the wall.

You really crack me up! Pingate...too funny. Lovely piece you made here, love the colors, you have such a way with blending. Really lovely.

Look Linda... if you have been creeping about and meeting him on the stairs he is probably so glad its just some pins in the plasterboard and not some bloke you have hidden away in the attic!! I can't say how nice the thingybob is because I don't have any pictures... my Interwebs is playingup... I have changed from IE to Chrome... no better... think I need my knight in shining underpants to come fix whatever I have broke!!

Ha, at least you got away with it... unless he's planning to rehang them whilst you leave the house... How many more sleeps\til you go?
I've given up waiting for "The Boys" to come back from th epub with shield shaped beermats so I'm going to make a template instead.

My dh is EXACTLY like that! It takes forever to get anything done because it all has to be planned first, measured, considered and completed to perfection. But..... all i have to do is actually let him see me with a tool as if I'm going to do it myself and he's there like a shot! He couldn't bear the thought.

Looks like lots of us have OH's like yours. I wanted some extra trellising on the back wall for my climbing roses, and it has been measured to the in'th so many times. I went and got the stuff, and got the drill and plugs out to start. Woops!! Mt roses now have some support!!! HeeHee .......

Love your card - brilliant colours.

Isn't it always the case that the longer you hide something the more anxious you get about it coming out of the bag and then when it does .............. total let down 'cos nothings said!

Love the card Linda, those fab hot shades of colour and beautiful images
are gorgeous.
