I Can See How This May Look ...
... To the untrained eye! But luckily I am dealing with seasoned professionals and all you WOYWWers will instantly recognise that I did n't leave my desk in this mess ... nor would I ... I am a creative soul after all ... and the un-made desk would be pure plagiarism!
No ... the truth be told ... I have been afflicted by a major disaster in the night ... rather remiss of me I know ... but I left my windows open last night after the heat of yesterday ... and the weather turned violently in the night. We were hit ... just us I might add ... not even the neighbours ... by a freak whirlwind ... don't panic ... all humans and canines are all perfectly safe ... but clearly the destruction that occurred on my desk ... oh and the floor is going to take some clearing away!
The whirlwind ... the freak one ... must have come in the window at such a force that it threw my weekend shopping so hard at my desk ... well you can see the mess it left behind in it's wake!
Nothing was spared ... even my shelves look like they have been hit by a bomb ... I mean ...erm ... a whirlwind ... some say it could have been a twister ... so forceful was the ... erm whirl ... that it blew all the life out of my clock battery too!
Clearly I shall have to lay down with a cold face cloth over my eyes ... and eat chocolate trifle and strawberries for my tattered nerves ... apparently that is the best remedy for traumas such as this ... and if one ... or all of you kind people would like to pop around while I rest my weary head and tidy up for me ... that would be very kind ... and if you wish to start up an entire charitable organisation to help with this mammoth task ... well I am sure you will find a list of very eager and very helpful people on Julia's blog right here! And if you want to send a food parcel ... I like the Tesco's family fresh cream chocolate trifle and any strawberries really ... but the redder the better :0)

Not only did I get treated to a disaster on your desk, I got a good read out of it, too. I'll be laughing all day after this post. After all, I like in Kansas in the US, where the Wizard of Oz and tornadoes are very famous. So, I know a real twister when I see one. And I definitely see one (grin)! Happy WOYWW.
oh wowo if this is a disaster I'm still loving what you make, (Please note blogger is only letting me see your bottom picture!!) I'm loving it all!
Have a good day!!
(Lyn)

Oh, no - mini whirlwind! Are you sure it wasn't Tim?!
What a lot of gorgeousness going on here!
Beware of whirlwinds eh? Must close my windows then. However, I do spy some amazing crafty Timy tags. How lucky for you that they didn't fly out of the window in that awful wind. luv Joanne xx
I read your blog every day, you make me laugh!
I wish my desk was as messy with all those new goodies!
I also have frequent whirlwinds in my craft room called Alfie (my grandson).
dear lord! I hope the chocolate emergency team shows up on your doorstep soon!
OMG Linda what on earth have you been doing? Whirlwind indeed??? Did it just happen to force the box of new Zutter goodies through the window? And what a clever whirlwind to actually open the box. Thoughtful heh?
haha this made me laugh, I love your whirlwind tale. I do wish one would stop by here and deposit some lovely stash on my desk.
Wow that is one big box of goodies, I'm envious, can you send some over my way LOL. A BIG whirlwind, mmmmmm are you sure.... Love all the artwork I spy. Bit busy at min gardening so will have to pass on helping you to clear up today LOL LOL. Tracy Evans x x
Yep, said whirlwind visited me too.. in fact, your mess looks like it is all orderly and neat compared to the crap on my desk ROFL Hope you is okies babes and have had a FAB weekend.. hugs xx
It is weird how these freak whirlwinds strike, I also experience them in my kitchen, my bathroom, my bedroom........! Thank you for the giggle - Jacqueline xx.
It is strange isn't it that this freak whirlwind seems to hit houses where crafters live?
You're post really made me laugh - as did those prior to it.
You're not off to Ranger by any chance are you? (ha ha)
There was a fab tip on UKScrappers recently about keeping some Get well cards on your mantle so that any unexpected guests will realise that you've been too sick to clean! I think this might apply to many of us!
haha! now I know what to tell hubby when he arrives home from work! hehe..
Have a lovely week.xx
I was wondering what had happened. I'm sure I must live near you as my desk has been similarly afflicted!!!
** Kate **
oooh good work linda...that is a seriously crafty mess!! ;0)
Hi Linda, or shall I call you Dorothy, lol! How frightening! I must admit the wind here last night was very gusty, I had to shut our window as it was too noisy. Love your little makes though, super colours! hugs Heidi xx
What's a girl to do when she's in full flow, can't be expected to tidy up. What? Oh sorry I thought it was just how you left it, didn't realise it was due to the elements ;o)
Anne xx

Oooohhh what a brilliant excuse! I can help you tidy up while you recover and I have some big boxes to put your stuff in too ;) xx
Well I think you were lucky to escape with your lives! trifle and strawberries should be on the menu fo rat least a week, your nerves must be shredded. The wind did turn up some nice looking stuff though - new Kaiser paint and a glimpse of some wooden flotsam.....hmmm, interesting.
Oh my gosh that whirlwind gets about! it hasnt visited me this week as it was busy hounding you! enjoy your comfort foods :O) I may just join you lol. Joey.xxx
I'm back, I can see your other pictures now! That red topped tiny caddy with the handle, I bought one of those filled with screws for hubby, coz it was only 50p! I wanted the caddy he could keep the screws, But he's napped it, cos he says the screws are nice a small and he needs to find them... I;ll swap it for a jam jar when he isn't looking!!Have a crafty day
((Lyn))
oh Linda - poor you... i am so glad you survived the erm whirlwind... - another case of the BBC weather people getting it wrong - I bet you never though when you left that window open you would suffer you very own tornado - that not even the neighbours would experience...
i hope you get your strawberries soon - and trifle.... I'll send the red cross round!!!
Paula x x x
oh you poor thing. Can't believe the awful weather we are having. Can't believe being the operative word!
Whirlwinds - huh!! I see you bought one of those wooden lighthousey thingeys too, bet yours gets altered quicker than mine!!
Was very lovely seeing you too, at the weekend! BTW, the only thing Beth inherited from her daddy is his eye colour! Lol! x
I'll happily come round and tidy up for you - but don't be surprised if things go missing...! x
Oh right, this explains why my desk is so tidy (ahem) at the moment - because the creative whirlwind is hitting your desk! lol and will I come around and tidy your desk while you lounge around in a distressed damsel manner.. erm... no!
Take care
:o)
Well these freak whirlwinds are very nasty things! Good thing it didn't break anything (other than the clock battery!). Have a good rest and lots of trifle and strawberries.... but not too much in case you go over the weight allowance for the flight :0 (How many more sleeps now?)
LOL! I think that whirlwind must have been at may house last night too! How funny ... well, that's my story too and I'm sticking to it!
Mary Anne
Remember, a messy desk is the sign of a creative mind....
Mary Anne
lol, your whirlwind has had me in giggles. I will remember this for when I havent done h****work.
Loved looking through your stash, lucky you.
Tracey
Thats the best excuse I have heard .. and I will be using it myself ... belive me I will!!!!
As for the helping hand .. if you pop it in a box .. send it to me , I will sort it out , and send it back ( of course , i will pay the P&P) .. now how long it will take and if you ever get it back will be at the R.M feet ;) well got to blame some one for not returning it!
Goodness our local paper reported a mini tornado here it blew a garden umbrella onto a roof top (slow news day!), but obviously that was nothing compared to your whirlwind was thinking of contacting the local tv station on your behalf!!!
Hugs Pamx
Hey, mine looks like this but WITHOUT the whirlwind Linda !!!
Just as well you got some wall boxes at AC to put some of that stash in. Guess they are on the floor too huh?

That's it Michael Fish must go.. he can't keep making meteorlogical errors like this, I clearly heard him say that there would be NO freak whirlwinds in May

You domake me laugh LOL :D
Oh Linda!!! poor you that storm must have been awful!!! what a shock to wake up to that ;) although thankfully your mini alpha stamps are all still upright and not too many bottles got knocked over in the winds :) I'd love to come over as sorting crafty stuff is my second favourite thing to do (first is using it). Px
Love your story made me smile. My table looks like that most of the time!! Sorry I can't pop over and help tidy. Lynne xx

That was quite a whirlwind, funny didn't feel it over my way ;) although I have a feeling it may drop past my house this weekend!
As I started to read I thought it was true ... then I started to picture you in a blue gingham dress and Toto by your side ...and 3 Tims dancing down your hall lol
Loved all your craftyness ...stash and works of art. xx
LOL if I had a freak whirlwind that dumps new stash on my desk I think a mess would be perfect to wake up to lol
hugs Nikki
Now I understand why you needed my trifle Linda! *Ü* LOL. That must be the whirlwind that visited me a few weeks ago...hence my desk has to remain so - awaiting insurance checks!! *Ü* Well, I hope you have rested from the shock and are now ready to get crafty again. TFS. ~Glen~
Oh My goodness all your lovelyness is blown too & fro I hope you can place it all away in the correct place ( always good to have a tidy up) you often find things afresh!

Hope you have recovered Linda, lol, how were the strawbs. I'm still doing the rounds might make it by next Weds. Am drooling over that clock, love it, where did ya get the bits from to make it? No it's not the pasta and chips I've just shovelled in , deffo a chip day to day want to go home and play had enough of the work malarky today.

Oh no what a disaster, Mmm Trfle sounds like a great curative though. Hee hee. Thanks for letting us see the disaster zone. Love Hazelxox
If you have a fund set up for the victim of such a tragic um whirlwind.... then you need a celebrity to visit the scene and minister calming words and craft goodies .... I am arranging for Sir Timmie for you!
Thanks for heading my way to post on my WOYWW post. I really appreciate it when people actually take the time to comment and so I am returning the courtesy. I must say I have seen so much here. I am inspired. Thanks for sharing.
