39 Sleeps!

BF81005

Did you think I had stopped counting? Huh? Did you? And if you don't know what I am counting down to ... Where have you been???

Oh yes people ... only 39 more sleeps and I am off to Distress ink heaven where Lord Tim of Holtz will be waiting to teach me everything he knows :0) You know Tim ... the man who would need no coalition to form a government as 100% of the UK population would have voted for him without a manifesto ... just a pot each of white and black enamel accents! Talking of which ... I picked mine up Saturday ... Yum Yum!

Right ... down to business ... I have my tickets and my hotel reservation and I have paid to attend Ranger U ... but I don't have a passport ... well technically I do ... but it is out of date. So ... anyways ... last week ... I put my Julia Roberts looky likey make up on and went to the local supermarket ... sat in the little photo booth and tried about a kerzillion times to get a decent photo but ended up with 4 passport sized pictures of an axe murderer. Anyways ... it took about 920 million hours to get that far so they would have to do ... popped into the Building Society where I used to work and got my old mate Roy to sign them and the forms ... Blah Blah and so on! BF71005

I then drive to the next village and walk into the little Post Office. Now UK Post Offices are not best known for their friendly service but this one was quite the exception. I was greeted by a lovely man and lady ... the lovely man checked the forms ... told me he had a camera and in future he would be happy to take the photo ... told me my eyes were a standard width apart ... and that should be some small compensation for the fact that I did n't look like Julia Roberts in the pictures ... yes he actually said that ... out loud!!! Which also begs the question ... What do you do if your eyes are not a standard width apart??? I mean you can't move your eyes closer together just for the passport office now can you??? Anyways he then asked me when I would be travelling ... when I told him "42 more sleeps" he and his lovely lady assistant fell about laughing ... when they composed themselves he assured me that my new passport should be with me in plenty of time ... Phew! They were lovely but they had no idea what Ranger U is!!!

Okey Dokey ... the chip hangy thing in the pictures is what I blogged on the Bubbly Scrumptious blog earlier today and a list of the ingredients and the how to's etc can all be found here.

I also have news of a fab new scrapping and mini book site which is run by the uber talented Isa Norris ... I thought I may give it a go ... Why don't you join me??? You can find it here.

And that my friends as they say ... is that!

Have a wonderful evening and wrap up warm ... apparently it is going to be a very cold night! Oh and if you are the owner of non standard width eyes perhaps you could tell me how you get around that problem when applying for your passport :0)

Those passport pictures are horrendous and I always look like someone out of a prison camp LOL. Your artwork is lovely and how exciting visiting Ranger U, hope you have a fantastic time, which I know you will and I'm sure you will have plenty of stories too.

Your post today made me laugh out loud - I can just see you in the post office explaining 42 sleeps!
My passport is out of date too - goodness knows if MY eyes are a standard distance.... but then sadly, I've got nowhere super-timmy special to go, unlike some.

Linda -

Thank you for the laughter. You have the most wickedly splendid sense of humor, it just brightens my day. If they don't let you in the country, call me and I'll vouch for you. I'll even spring you out of prison, although personally I think you could talk your way out of any prison. They'd be doubled over with laughter and you could just waltz away and keep your most important engagement with Mr. Holtz!

Hugs,

Elaine Allen

Must of cost so much to go all that way to Ranger U But I know it will be worth it. If I had the pennies I would be with you like a shot!

Love Dawn xx

Lovely art again. I've got to ask - do you learn all Tim's tricks at Ranger U like how to tightrope walk etc or is it just inking and getting messy???
Your descriptions always make me laugh!

Gorgeous chip. And wow - only 39 sleeps to go!!

Your posts always make me laugh, but today's was especially funny! If ever I get around to sorting out a passport I'll let you know whether my eyes are standard width apart or not (and if not how to get around it!)

D'you reckon they were having you on Linda? Bet they could see how anxious and excited you are so thought they'd try bringing you down to earth a bit. They haven't got a chance!

Love the chip hangy thing. The little oval frame is great and I always love flutterbies!

Yep, I saw the forecast too and it's definitely fluffy bed sox and thermal pjs tonight!

Lovely piece and good to hear that the space between your eyes is not going to pose a problem for the IPS!

It must be over-the-moon nice to be able to go to all of Tim's classes. I'd be happy to get that opportunity just once.

and yes the man has a gift, but He is no Lord. You and others, make his head swell, and his prices go up.

Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour going to Ranger U .... but am secretly green with envy. May have to confess my sins! Linda do you actually WANT to look like Julia Roberts? How would you find room in your mouth for all those TEETH! Love this project by the way ....

Erm... did you hear on the news yesterday about possible plane flight strikes over the coming weeks and that annoying volcano is still rumbling? Have you put Lord Holtz on standby so he can swoop in on his stickle beam to rescue you? (I'm picturing like the ice man of Marvel Hero fame - dunno his real name just know he gets around on a big ice slide!) How cool would that be - it would almost be worth a strike happening wouldn't it?

LOL Linda, you have cheered me up

You are so funny - if your eyes were set too far apart - I'm sure Lord Tim of Holtz would be able to fix 'em no problem!!!

Love the chipboard thingy and see that I really need to do some blogging and come back to catch up on your blog... I've been a bad blog buddy these last two weeks...

hugs
