Inspiration!

ASproject1a0110

I started this piece last Sunday for the Sunday Stampers challenge ... which was faces. I have been faffing around with it all week and not liking the faffing ... so I kept putting it to one side! Now it is too late ... Hey Ho!

It did make me think though ... about where inspiration comes from ... and this piece's inspiration came from many places. Firstly the choice of stamps ... they all had faces and were inspired by the challenge theme ...

ASproject1b0110 Then the film strip ... the idea of stamping little pictures or taking elements from stamps came from Tim ... the man that can build a snowman with just a tumbler of water and a pokey tool ... he don't need snow ... back to the inspiration ... his twelve tags of Christmas day number nine ...

And finally the sequin waste ... blog hopping as you do ... I came across this lovely card by Minxy and was inspired to add sequin waste to the corners to give it that little something ...

So ... there you have it ... inspiration from all over!

The stamps are from the Artistic Stamper Collage 1 sheet and the other sheet is Time and keys 1.  I have used grunge paper and the flower power sheet for my roses ... painted with plum acrylic paint and stamped in white ink with a houndstooth stamp. The cogs are Idea-ology ... like you did n't know :0)ASproject10110

It's a funny old Sunday here ... John is hobbling about because he fell over on Friday and everything has ceased up ... he is also whinging coz he has man flu ... it keeps trying to snow ... Athena is in a playful mood and keeps dropping a rubber pig in my lap which is covered in dog drool and is far from pleasant ... me? well I am my usual self ... not sure if that is a good or a bad thing ... either way I am seeking refuge in my craft room to stay clear of bugs and slobber :0)

So ... c'mon ... tell me about your Sunday!

I love this piece too, but then you never disappoint! I've had a lazy day, a lie in, nice hot bath, hot chocolate on the sofa, then some crafting (see blog) and the icicles have all melted outside the window so hopefully the "slide" to the bus stop tomorrow to work won't be too - slidey!! Hope John gets better soon - he needs to cook your dinner!

Hi Linda and what a stunning piece - I get my inspiration from you and other blogging artists.

My Sunday - I have had to move some crafty bits in to my kitchen 'cos I'm still snow bound in my craft room !!!! Very difficult to make things when the thing I NEED is sure to be outside !!! No matter onwards and upwards - hopefully the thaw will come soon

Hugs Hilda

Love your faffing, glad I'm not the only one faffing this week. I used to be indecisive now I'm not so sure! Spent the day starting lots of little projects and finishing none, nothing new there then more UFOs.

Hi Linda, My inspiration comes a lot of the time from talented people like you. In fact last night I made a card which was inspired by the one in your previous post. Haven't had time to take a pic yet though so haven't blogged it

Love the piece you've posted today. It's so intricate with lots of different elements to look at. Another lovely piece of inspiration.

I spent my morning finally dismantling our huuuuggge artificial (but a really nice one) Christmas tree that we have in the conservatory and playing with my little granddaughter this afternoon. We had dinner late and now I'm going to see if I can come up with a bit of my own inspiration to make a birthday card for my brother.

You do not want to know about my Sunday! I worked today and it was non-stop buys with loads of customers and we were a person short!

On the up side, I'm a custom framer so there was lots of creativity. Now I'm sitting on my couch catching up on blogs. I have a day off tomorrow, so then I'll get truly creative!

You have a beautiful piece of art to show for your Sunday. I'm working on a piece with the film strip ribbon; your idea is totally inspiring. Partial images instead of whole ones? Brilliant!

Gorgeous colour - I'd love to have a wall of my living room that colour. Yum! Might take a while with stamp pads though ;)

Another fabulous project Linda... shuddering to think what Mr Tim would make snowmen with if he didn't use snow though...

Well thanks for asking, my Sunday was normal but nice, and AND I actually did more than walk past my table (I try really hard not to craft at w/ends...guilt see...)
I hope Mr T or someone equally well connected is supplying you - how much product? It looks lovely - the sequin stuff is just the right reflective thing innit. It doesn't show the agony it pur you through, I must say!
