It has been a while ... but when Moira sent me some canvases to play with ... well I got stuck straight in! And play I did! The canvases came with an ickle mini easel which is totally cute!
This canvas is 10cmX10cm and I covered it with Claudine Hellmuth's matte multi-medium before painting and stamping... and then again to seal it. The stamps I have used are Artistic Outpost "Send in the Clowns" and they are my new favourite!
I know there are probably several bloggers out there that don't like clowns ... perhaps you could tell me why in your comments ... I have never really got that one ... I get Marmite and Tilda ... but clowns are just there to make us laugh ... are n't they????
The harlequin border around the sides is a Crafty Individuals stamp and the text stamped on top of that is from the "Send in the clowns" sheet too. You get loads for your money on that sheet I can tell you!
You will all be totally relieved to know that I am still showing no signs of man flu ... well I say that ... I sneezed earlier when a bit of dust went up my nose ... perhaps I have got man flu and should lay down in a darkened room :0)
If you want to read some more of my inane drivel ... I can't believe I spelt that right first time ... truly I did ... without spell checking and everything ... I will now be appearing on the Bubbly Scrumptious blog ... starting today ... every Monday ... as part of the Bubbly funk design team ... it would be totally cool if you popped in and said Hi.
Happy Monday people ... see you tomorrow ... or later if you have blogged :0)

Fab canvas those stamps look great. I don't get the scary clown thing either
Love the canvas, great subject too. DOn't have a thing about clowns myself, can't be bothered with all the drama that goes with it!
Bubblyfunk too eh? Great for them and for us...your mission to conquer is achieving momentum oh mighty one!
Love the canvas, clowns are a bit scary, but he looks friendly enough.
Yay and whoo for joining us, looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
Congratulations Linda. :o))
I don't like clowns but I don't have a thing about them. Liking what you've done with this set.

This is so brilliant, Linda. I love it! I don't get the scary thing either, but maybe it is the thought of sadness behind the painted smile that bothers people,

Love anything with a circus theme... fab!
This is a super piece of art, loving the colours and the layout !
Fabulous, just love it!
Fabuloso, love the colours and the clowns, although the stamps remind me of 'Clockwork Orange', or is that just me? xx
Brilliant
I know I keep leaving the same comment, but I really do love your work.
this is a fabby piece of art and would hang finely in the tate gallery LOL Hels has just hidden in the corner xx
Love the colours and the composition even though I am one of the people that have a "thing" about clowns. Partly it's the painted face, like a mask that bugs me, then there is the not talking thing (I hate mimes too), add to that I watch too many horror movies (think Steven Kings "It")and there you have it... scary clowns.
Congrats on the Bubbly Funk DT place
Oh there's definitely something sinister about your average clown - exaggerated features and death-white face paint? Not at all scary? Hmmm. Fab canvas, love the use of the bling.
My eldest is terrified of clowns - she never used to be until she went on a girlie sleepover and they told urban legends all night long. She's a bit of a woos anyway but come the following night she was in hysterics when it came to bed time. Apparantly there had been one about a man dressed as a clown sneaking into kids bedrooms and... well I'll leave the rest to your imagination :( She has been terrified of them ever since and I'm still not sure whether she believes me that it was one of those urban tales that every town has and that it would have been all over the news had it been true!
So there is one reason why one person is scared of them. Me - I can take them or leave them. Now those lifelike china dolls... well that's another story ;)
Love your canvas... it reminds me of a James Bond film that had those style of clowns in :D
Love your canvas! As for the clowns--I don't have a "thing" about them--could take them or leave them. These clowns are great--I've eyed this set myself. However, as much as we all idolize and adore Tim Holtz, his clowns are down right scary!!! Have you noticed how evil they look? Nothing against t!m, but I'm just sayin... Have fun with the rest of your canvases!
Hi Linda. Just as a reply from your comment on my blog, the peel-off is a stamp IYKWIM! It's from Woodware, but I have failed to far to find it in stock anywhere :( I know what you mean about peel off snobbery - I'm the same, but I couldn't resist the tree when I saw it!
Beautiful canvas! Thanks for using Artistic Outpost images, don't forget to check out the Referral Program www.artisticoutpost.blogspot.com
Great work Linda xxx I have to say I'm one of the ones who doesn't like clowns, I think it's to do with the movie IT lol
Wow Brillaint clowns Linda.

Gorgeous canvas Linda :) I think the thing about the clowns is kids see them sometimes when they are quite young and they just find them scary, I mean the faces aren't like ordinary people faces. My grandson's (7) a bit scared of them 'cos when he was younger one was squirting water in his face and he just freaked out
:-/

Linda, what an awesome canvas!! Isn't the set wonderful! Awesome colors and embellishing. You did an amazing job on it!
I don't like clowns..they scare the pants off me..but...I have to say...my pants are still on cos these little fellas ain't so scarey..not like those ones that Mr Holtz had made into rubberstamps...they are evil LOL Lovve the colours you have used on the canvas...FAB!! xx
