Altered Beer Mats!

SAWO Alter it The Saturday Workout Challenge is "altered stuff" this week.

"The stuff" I chose to alter were beer mats.

Some of you will have seen this project before because I made several of these boxes last year.SAWO Alterit1

I just cover the beer mats with papers, file the edges. Finish the edges off with Gold Krylon then place them in my Bind-it-all. The beer mats are a perfect size.

SAWO alterit 2 Once all the edges have holes in them I tie them altogether with ribbon and decorate depending on what I plan on putting inside the box.

I mostly use these boxes for, the twelve days of Christmas, altered curtain ring decorations that I make because it is the perfect size.

This is quite a time consuming project but great fun to do and the results are really quite nice!

"Quite nice" my bottom!! They are lovely!! I haven't got a BIA, so I tried this with the Cropadile and it's a lot more time-consuming! Think I gave up after 3 beermats!!
I love your curtain rings too - I have a whole set of white ones to do if I ever get focussed enough - you know me, always something on the go!!
Thanks for your lovely comment on the quiltie - I really want to make more of these, but have to spend time planning a bit better I think! xxx
