Girls just wanna have fun!

This is my first attempt at a CD book. Cutting the CD was not as hard as I thought. I scored a line about 1.5cm in from the edge of each CD with a craft knife, heated where I had scored it and then cut along the line with a sharp pair of scissors while the CD was still warm. CD8 Apparently if you let it go cold it is likely to crack - well this girl is a fast mover and I did n't waste anytime on that bit!

I then covered the label side of each CD with Green and blue Floral Chic papers by Michelle Coleman.

Once all five were covered I set about lining them up and putting them in my trusty Bind-it-all. Like cutting butter with a hot knife! Still no cracks - by this point I was amazed as well as rather pleased with myself. So I set about stamping a girl/girls on each CD.

CD5

Mona was first! She is a Tim Holtz stamp from Stampers Anonymous. I stamped her with a  black memories ink pad and I added lipstick with a red gel pen! Well a girl needs lippy to have fun - Does n't she?

CD2

I added some dots by using sequin waste as a stencil. These were done in black soot and Broken china on the blue paper and Black Soot and Peeled Paint on the green paper.

The words on the Mona page are circle letters cut out with a square hole punch - this girl likes to do things a little differently!

CD4

All other stamps used are from the Crafty Individuals range.

I decorated all the backs with Adirondack Alcohol inks with either more sequin waste or a a star stencil made from another punch! A Star shaped one this time :0))

CD1

I then added some card pages too and then bound it all together and added ribbons and a few charms.

CD3

Once I had pieced it altogether I went a bit mad with the camera! So there are plenty of pictures from every angle I'm afraid. This book has been a while in the making. It is a special gift for Andrea whose birthday is today.

Happy Birthday Andrea!
