Journaling on scraps ... literally!

Hello people! I hope Valentines Day is being kind to you ... and if it is n't ... well ... it's a good day to treat yourself to some new stash ... Go on! You know you want to!
I have been playing with my scraps again ... this time ... venting my frustration at not being able to sell my flippin' house! It has now been on the market ... like ... foraaaaaaaages! It puts everything in limbo ... hard to make plans etc., and it is oh sooooooooooo frustrating!
Anyways ... enough of my whinging ... this double page spread just about covers it all! And very therapeutic too I might add!
The background was made using Wild Honey Distress Stain and Dylusions Burnt Orange Colour Wash ... a bit of Vintage photo Distress Ink and then some stencilling with Acrylic Paint. The wonderful Lin showed me and the lovely Karen a really cool shadow effect with paints and stencils the other day ... sadly ... I have n't mastered it yet ... but it is great fun trying!
The stamps are all Dylusions ... coloured in with Pro Markers and the Ranger White Pen has been used to within an inch of it's life!
So many of you ask what paper I use to journal on ... and my secret is ... unused and unloved 12 X 12 Scrapbooking paper ... one sided stuff that I bought yonks ago and for some reason ... I no longer like it! It gives such a smooth base ... fabulous ... and a scrap no less ... so it can be included into my journal ... which ... as you know ...is only made of scraps. I literally fold the paper into four ... adhere it all together and then get started ... Simples! And no pressure ...
I must away ... I need to get lots of jobs done before the postman arrives with my annual sack of cards ... erm ... not! ...
Have a good day!
Laters!

I think it's a great page - and the shadow (bumping we call it, lol!) is a great technique - I imagine it's the same one you mean - I saw it demo'd at Stevenage - you should have been there!!

Clever girl, using up your unloved stash. I use my paper offcuts too. Loving the intensity of colour you are getting - maybe I have to use the same products as you.

I like Siobhan's suggestion, in fact I love it! I love the pages too and the tip about using up unwanted 12 x 12's is a great one ............ I have a paper mountain of them. Trouble is I can't seem to get the journalling bug inspite of having several of the brilliant Dyan's stamp sets :-(

Hugs

LOVE these pages... maybe you should make another one that says BUY ME and leave it on the front door for next open house? That'll do it... they won't be able to resist your gorgeous art!
