Browned Off!

Mornin' All! A new week already! Can you believe it?
First things first ... smoking update for you all ... I have now completed two whole calendar months of NOT smoking ... I don't wanna tempt fate or nuffink ... but I think I may have cracked it! I say cracked it ... I am well aware I cannot be trusted anywhere near a cigarette ... EVER again ... I kind of know the urge to light it up and smoke it would be just toooooo great ... but the truth is ... the cravings are very few and very far between now and I look at least 20 years younger than I did ... In fact I got mistaken for a 14 year old the other day :0)
It is indeed Monday ... which means there is a whole new theme over at Simon Says Stamp and Show ... this week ... it is ... One Colour ... Any Colour! I went for brown! I love brown and I love crunching through brown crispy leaves on a frosty Autumn day ... mind you ... the weather is so mild here at the moment there is still a lot of green.
I used Brushed Corduroy to colour  my upcycled beer mat ... THE Wendy Vecchi stamps and some Lord Tim of Holtz Idea-Ology. You know Tim ... the man that can talk to Giraffes in their native tongue while taming Bengal Tigers with just a blending tool and a jump ring.
Usual rules apply ... so if you want to win a $50 Shopping Spree at the fabulous and humungus Online Shopping Site which is Simon Says Stamp  ... you need to play along!
I must away!
Laters!

Linda, your brown piece is lovely. And many congrats on two. On this of not smoking! That is quite an accomplishment. You need to give yourself a huge hug and a pat on the back! Hugs, Candy

Lovely use of browns - aren't they gorgeous to work with, but it's never easy to work with one single colour. Congratulations on the not smoking - hope you last out. I really must try again. Managed 9 weeks last time then something happened and I reached for one... I was doing so well! It's not easy so well done, you!

Huge congrats on stopping smoking. I know how hard that is and admit that even after nearly 15 years without one, they still call to me at times. Hang tough!

Your Simon Says piece is fantastic. Love all the rich texture especially the cool butterflies!

Funny, I was brushing my corduroys just yesterday and they weren't this colour at all! :) I love the warmth of this piece Linda, and I am a total copper junky so I was always bound to like it!

Well done on the ciggy front ...just think how terrible smokers smell and you did too ...that helped me ...I had no idea that me and the house smelt so bad ...now its only the cats lol. It is 3 years and 10 months for me ...I cant believe I ever smoked and wasted so much money...but about twice this year I have fancied/needed a smoke ...but I haven't given in ...Keep strong xx

I gave up seven years ago, and only very very occasionally do I get taken by surprise by a sudden desire for a Marlborough Light
such a distinctive smell.

if you don't quit this time, you can always know that this time you did it for two weeks and next time try three,

it took me four goes to get to seven years.

nicotine substitutes help when you want one real bad in the early days.

and remember the cash savings,

well done, stick with it,

Dx

I love those beer mats! Kind of simple yet really effective. Those little Tim Holtz word charms are so cute.
