Starry Starry Night!

Card13009 See  ... that is a song and for once I actually know who sang it ... Don Maclean!

It rates as one of my all time favourites and I would even go so far as saying ... if I ever make it as a Breakfast Weather Girl ... and get invited onto Desert Island Discs ... well I shall be picking that song ... there you go ... you heard it here first!

I am not a big fan of making my own Christmas cards ... I get bored very quickly ... and to keep changing styles all the time ... well it is time consuming and a tad untidy! So this year I have come up with a plan ... Keep them simple ... yet fun!Card1a3009

This one is all about the background. The sky is Chipped Sapphire ... stamped with Gold Dabber ... and dotted with a Ranger white pen ... then I have Distress Stickled it all over ... very messy ... just the way I like it! Chipped Sapphire is indeed a Lord Tim of Holtz Distress Ink ... you know Tim ... the man that can entertain an entire cruise ship while conversing with the entire population of sea creatures with just a single ticket from his tickets strip die and the P of a pricking tool!

The stamps I have used are the Darkroom Door Christmas Reindeer Collection! Talking of collections ... what collections of songs would you choose for Desert Island Discs? ... I must away ... I am part way through a secret squirrel project ... and I really should get it finished!

Have a fab evening y'all

Wednesday ... Wednesday!

WOYWW2909 Is that a song? I am just kidding of course ... and if you did n't visit on Monday or Tuesday ... well ... you are going to think I am nuts! Today is Wednesday and that means it is time for the weekly pilgrimage to Julia's place to have a right old nosey at other people's stuff!

My stuff this week includes these fabulous Dylusions spray inks that the lovely Dy Reaveley gave me to play with at Ally Pally ... so I am ... erm ... playing ... just look at all those yummy colours ... I have also spritzed over the top of a couple of them ... with a Perfect Pearl and water WOYWWa2909 mixture ... I used Lord Tim of Holtz's favourite ... Heirloom Gold ... he told me that was his favourite ... yes I know ... he was on QVC at the time and there was a few million other people watching him as well ... but I choose to believe he was indeed talking to me :0)

I thought I would share my Stampotique haul too ... Are n't they just the dog's dangly bits!

Anyways ... I am supposed to keep this brief ... so I will love you and leave you ... I may be back shortly with some finished tags :0)

Have fun ... Laters!

Tuesday ... Tuesday!

Card2809 Is that a song? Or ... Did I just make it up? :0)

Okay ... Who stole Tuesday ... I spent half the day looking for my list of stuff to do and the other half of the day avoiding the list that I found ... coz there was n't much on it that I really fancied doing!

Now I am rushing about like a loon ... trying to catch up before bed and I start all over again! carda2809

I thought I would just quickly share this card with you ... Lord Tim of Holtz's Crushed Olive Distress ink ... you know Tim ... the man that can walk on the Thames while carving Pumpkins for all the world's under privileged children with just an Idea-ology Bauble and some Hobgoblin Tissue Tape. The stamps are indeed Darkroom Door. I should apologise really for the reflection on the Ghetto Blaster ... that is a result of all the Glossy Accents I have applied ... Yes ... I am still in my Glossy Accent phase ... as for Ghetto Blaster ... now I am showing my age too ... What do you call it?

Well ... that is me for today ... I am off to play with some dye inks ... cool huh?

Monday ... Monday!

Is that a song? Monday ... Monday? Or did I just make it up?
If it was a song ... Who sung it?
Anyways ... Monday not only means the start of a new week ... it also means the start of a new challenge over at Simon Says Stamp and Show ...

I ran out of time this week  ... so I am submitting these two tags that have both been distressed with Lord Tim of Holtz's edge Distresser ... you know Tim ... the man that can dance across a lake while fashioning an award winning sculpture with just an Ornate Frame and a small piece of Grungepaper.
I am having an awful time with Mr Blogger tonight .... so hopefully the challenge will appear here  ... along with a fabulous prize donated by Simon Says Stamp ... I plan on having a lazy day today ... let's see how that goes ..
Have a good week y'all ...

A Perfect Day!

AP0910 It has been said ... that I am easily pleased ... anyways ... I think that is what they said :0) ... but I have just had the best day!
Day 2 of Ally Pally and Ok ... so the weather was a bit rubbish ... freezing outside ... boiling inside ... but other than that ... and my aching joints ... the day was  nigh on perfect!
AP20910
Early start again ... but not so much traffic today ... which was good ... Bacon Rolls with the wonderful Lin ... the lovely Karen and marvellous Mark ... lots of crafty chit chat with all the lovely visitors that came to the LB Crafts stand to buy stuff or just to say Hi ... another day of playing ...
AP10910
oops ... I mean demoing ... and then I gets home to a wonderful roast dinner and strawberry trifle ... Yummy!
Now I am off for a long soak in a nice hot bath ...

Ally Pally!

AP1a0910

It has to be said ... I look more like Alf Roberts than Julia Roberts right now ... shattered is an understatement. I have been on  my feet all day at Ally Pally ... and although it is completely exhausting ... your feet hurt ... your back aches and your hands look like you will never get them clean again ... it is also humungus fun! I LOVE every minute of it!

I got to say Hi to lots of peeps today ... so to all those that popped by to say "Hi" Thank you all so much. I was making samples all day ... standing AP1c0910 next to the wonderful Lin ... while the lovely Karen and marvellous Mark worked their socks off doing all the shop stuff!

It was great to see so many faces ... old and new ... not old old but not new old ... if you know what I mean. I managed to get my grubby little mitts on some Wendy Vecchi art parts and one or two new Stampotique stamps too ... CANNOT wait to play!

Right ... well that is me ... off to the land of nod ... if you are planning on a day at Ally Pally tomorrow ... don't forget to stop by and say Hi ...

Thank God it's Friday!

Card1a2409 Blimey ... What a week I have had ... NO INTERNET! I know with all you Bloggers out there ... I need say nothing more on the subject ... but boy did I feel lost without it! No blogging ... no blog hopping ... no emails ... no WOYWW ... It did leave me wondering if I should get out more!

Needless to say ... I did n't ... and it is good to be back. I came back to 8 messages from Badul Sowedo ... telling me he needed little ole me to help him spend his millions ... I must remember to email him with my bank details ... NOT!!!!

Anyways ... enough about the internet already ... I did find I had loads more time on my hands ... made lots of cards ... I may even blog them all ... I had my nails done ... and my hair done  ... I went to LB Crafts ... had a fabulous day catching up with my lovely friend ... I even sorted out my paper drawer ... you know ... that drawer in the Card1b2409 kitchen ... where you ram all sorts of junk that you have n't got the time or the inclination to face ... then it gets sooooo full you can't cram any more in ... so you start a little pile on the work top and then before you know it ... well you have to have mountaineering training before you can reach the top of it ... or is that just me??? Go on ... spill ... What do you do with yours???

The card you can see is coloured with Lord Tim of Holtz's Distress Inks ... you know Tim ... the man that can create a Commonwealth village in his tea break while tracking Tigers in Bhutan with just a Decorative Bauble and a five ball length of ball chain!

The stamps used are Paper Artsy and Dark Room Door and that is just about it ...

Sooooooo looking forward to demoing at Ally Pally this weekend ... remember to shout Hi and show me your stash haul if you are passing :0)

What a Palaver!

SSS12009 Blimey ... it feels like ages since I have sat down and chatted with you guys ... Oh yeah ... that is because it is!

Where have I been? Nowhere really ... on Friday an Iphone4 fell into my shopping basket and I spent most of the day skipping around in excitement! On Saturday by 9am the said phone had arrived ... I ripped open the box like a small child ... and that is where the saga began!SSS42009

First thing you have to do is register the Sim ... the website wants 14 digits and I only have 12! After 4 phone calls to T-Mobile Customer Service ... and one to the T-Mobile shop ... and 2.5 hours ... I am finally advised that a) they have given me a new phone number and should n't have done and b) my Sim is faulty. I gets in the car ... sit in an hour long traffic jam ... you aint gonna believe this ... the guy in the shop won't replace the Sim ... I have to buy a new one!!!! I ask him to test it before I go home ... he says he can't ... I have to go to the Apple shop. He also tells me if I want to keep my old number I haSSS32009ve to buy a Sim from another provider ... pay 25 quid to have my number ported to that supplier and then port it back a day later ... for ... get this ... another 25 quid!!!

At this point I had fallen out of love with my new toy and close to tears of frustration I walk down to the Apple shop! There I meet Leo ... what a sweetie he was ... got me all set up ... listened to my tail of woe ... empathised ... then showed me how to use all the little gadgets! I SSS22009wish the mobile phone world was full of Leos!

Anyways ... guess who will be getting a letter of complaint this morning!

Talking of this morning ... there is indeed a new challenge over on the Simon Says Stamp and Show blog this morning ... with a very lovely prize donated by Simon Says Stamp. Talking of very lovely ... I had a very lovely time making this piece ... I hope you all have a good week ... Anyone going to Ally Pally?

Red, White and Blue!

DRD2a Well ... I did n't actually get around to finishing this card last night ... kind of got sidetracked looking at the massive array of challenge blogs out there ... and by the time I got up this morning ... well ... I saw that Hel's Sunday Stamper Challenge also had a theme of Red and Blue today!

So ... just the one card for two challenges ... I hope that is allowed ... the other challenge I am entering is The Create 4 Fun challenge and their theme this week is Red, White and Blue.

Was n't it Oscar Wilde who once said "Life imitates Art far more than Art imitates Life" ... I have a huge problem calling what I do art ... "artwork" sits far more comfortably with me and the art that I worked with on this occasion was Rachel Greig's fabulous Darkroom Door Rockstar stamp collection ... again! DRD2

As for imitating life ... well my thoughts were dominated yesterday by memories of 911 and a great sadness for all the victims and their families ... and the shock that our American friends must have suffered on that dreadful day ... so I kind of guess that is where my stars and stripes originated from.

Have a good Sunday everyone ...

The Allsorts Challenge!

DRD1a I found myself at a bit of a loose end tonight! John has had to go into work to do a nightshift and I am not really a Last Night at the Proms kind of girl! I am not really a Rock Chick either but I managed to entertain myself by playing with Darkroom Door's wonderful Rockstar stamp collection. Did you see what I did there ... Rock Chick ... Rockstar ... What a link ... I could sooooo do Breakfast TV you know!

Anyways ... After doing a spot of blog hopping and struggling to leave comments ... Mr Blogger had either ideas ... again ... Grrr! I decided to enter this week's Allsorts Challenge which is Autumn Colours. DRD1

Out came some white card ... Rusty Hinge ... Forest Moss and Stormy Sky ... a few bits of Lord Tim of Holtz's tissue tape ... you know Tim the man that can sing Opera like an angel while piecing together every instrument required in an orchestra with just a Jet Black Archival ink pad and an ink blending tool.

So ... What to do now? ... the night is still young ... I may make another card ... unless of course you have a better idea ...

tim-promo Oh yes people ... Only 167 more sleeps and you could be preparing for the class of a lifetime!
No ... I am not suggesting you fork out a shed load of dollars in plane fairs ... or camp out waiting at airports ... ready to grab the Lord himself in arrivals ... however tempting that appears to myself :0) No ... Not only do you get to play and learn from the uber talented Lin Brown and Leandra Franich ... but ... be still my aching heart ... Lord Tim of Holtz is going to be teaching too! Oh yes ... you know Tim the man that can hop from one side of the world to another in his lunch hour ... speaking every single language in between ... while making a replica Tower of London with just a grain of Black UTEE and a single Idea-ology adornment!
How excited am I??? On a scale of 1-10 ... only 63gazillion, 5 trillion, 456 million and erm ... two!
If ... like me ... you wanna know all the glorious details then head straight over to here or here!
I am kidding myself now that you are still reading this bit ... anyways ... if you are ... I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and get your holiday days cleared in plenty of time for ticket sales ... on Monday night!!!!!!

No Excuses!

WOYWW0809
That is right WOYWWers ... I am not even going to venture into the land of excuse making ... this wet and windy Wednesday! I thought about telling you that there had been a natural disaster in the vicinity of my desk ... I toyed with the idea that I could blame the dog ... or John ... or both ... I even contemplated taking a picture of a tidy desk and sharing that with you ... but when push came to shove ... well this is my desk and yes it is a mess!
For those of you that worried about my drawer opening capabilities ... well fret ye not ... they all open! For those of you that showeWOYWW0809ad interest in the amount of times I opened them ... panic ye not ... these drawers hold supplies that I regularly use ... all to hand ... so I don't have to get up :0)
Nothing more I can say ... if you think I am barking ... well join the queue ... or visit Julia and she will explain why I have displayed my desk for the world to see. As for the sneaky peek ... you need to check back later for the full reveal :0)
Have a good Wednesday everyone!

That is That Then!

PACSBM6

I know ... I Know ... I have failed on the whole blog every day in September mission! But I do have an excuse! No ... The dog did n't eat my posts ... I was struck down by half a sore throat! It all started Friday ... just a bit sore when I swallowed down one side ... by Saturday ... the gland came up on the same side ... but I soldiered on ... by Sunday ... I was well and truly laid up and all I could do was sleep ... yesterday was the same ... but today I appear to be on the mend ... So ... Who missed me???PACSBM5

You can tell I am better because I am back in my craft room ... I am sure I did n't leave it in this mess ... but Hey Ho!

So nothing new to share with you today ... this is a Beer Mat I did a couple of weeks ago ... I say nothing new ... you won't have seen it before ... unless you are the culprit that snuck in and untidied my craft room :0)

Righty Ho ... I must away ... I have a head full of ideas and Crafting withdrawal symptoms ...
