Don't panic ... it was nothing to do with my shiny new and very pink Distrezz-it-all from Zutter ... but more about that later ... first things first ... and I am not entirely sure you are going to believe me ... I feel a bit like the boy who cried wolf after yesterday's ... erm ... dalliance with a whirlwind! ... but this tale is in fact very very very true!
Alarm went off at 7am as usual ... John got up first ... which is unusual on a Thursday but also very lucky as I have no sense of smell whatsoever!!! Anyways John get's up ... goes downstairs ... goes to put the light on and luckily realises ... just in the nick of time ... that he can smell gas!!! So he walks in the kitchen ... without putting the light on ... obviously ... or I would n't be here to tell the tale ... nor would some of the street ... not that they are here ... but you know what I mean ... and he can hear a hissing sound. One of the rings on the hob was on full pelt and had been since 1am this morning when my rather drunk foreign language student fell in the house slaughtered drunk ... attempted to get himself a drink and must have fallen against the cooker and switched it on trying to get up! So once John realised what had happened ... he charged around the house ... verbalising the ways he was going to kill the poor language student ... with rather rude words thrown in at regular intervals ... opened all the doors and windows to clear the air. I managed to calm him down by lunch time and luckily I also managed to keep the aforesaid language student out of his path for a good few hours too ... so we are all safe ... and all is well that ends well!
Now for my new toy. This little book has 18 pages in it ... how long do you think it took me to distrezz 'em all???? ... oh about two minutes ... I LOVE the Distrezz-it-all ... LOTS!
The cover is a cover-all ... also from Zutter. I used Lord Tim of Holtz's Lost and Found paper to decorate as well as his corners and his typewriter key. You know Tim ... the man that can perform three life saving operations all at the same time while handcrafting a scale model of the City of Paris in the top of a cocktail stick using just his Non stick scissors and a curio knob.
Wanna know what's in the book??? Huh??? Do ya??? Well it is a colour guide to all 36 Distress Ink colours and every single page has a distressed edge ... all done at the same time! The Distressed edge that is ... not the colouring.
Have a lovely evening people ... only 22 more sleeps ... Ta ra!

Linda, you are clearly made of sterner stuff than the rest of us. You narrowly escape certain death and then instead of having hysterics you go off and create a book ( and a fabulous book at that) to index your Distress Inks. I'm not sure you and Lin are safe to be around though, I think I'll have to take out extra insurance before coming to the new classes. Do you think they'd qualify as dangerous sports?
ooohhh love the distressing tool thats one more thing for the wish list. Ooops poor student!! gave me a giggle though hope you have better day 2morrow x
kaz xx
so please can we see inside it? Please miss. Phew are we glad that all is safe and sound.
Glad to hear you are ok - I would have probably turned the light on automatically - woops! Allyson is right though- you and Lin aren't safe to be around!
The book is absolutely totally gorgeous. You have to show us inside!
Got the big shot coming tomorrow!
Fabulous book Linda, especially as it nearly didn't live to be shown on this post.
My OH is always up first in the week and I'm 99% certain he would have switched the light on before registering any gas smell. Thank goodness your John is more alert in the mornings.
I'd love to have been a fly on the wall when you next clapped eyes on the student!
Hugs
Lesley Xx
Your book is AWESOME! And, I'm glad to hear the glowing review of the Distrezz-It-All! Mine's en route to me right now, and I can't wait to start distressing everything I can get my hands on.
Holy cow, I'm glad there was no explosion!!!
Phew - drunken student - I'd have him/her out the door before their feet touched the ground.
Thank goodness you are safe - adore the book - and hope the next 22 sleeps go quickly and uneventful so that you can be with your Tim

The book is fabulous, I guess I missed the Distrezz-it-all, will have to check it out. Glad nothing came about as a result of the leak, but if it did, I'm sure Tim coulda fixed it with just a memo pin and glossy accents.
Awesome project! You amaze me...awesome talent!
Oh my goodness Linda, that could have been sooooo nasty - I hope "said language student" is suitably repentant
That book looks amazing
Thank goodness you are safe and sound Linda. Your book is awesome, and that new Distress it all looks fabulous. Hope we get to see the inside soon. See you next week! Judith xx

Gorgeous book. I'd like to volunteer to give it a really good, loving, safe home. You know, just in case it needs adopting.
Since you have the new tool from Zutter, could you tell us all about it from a user's point of view? I'd love to know more.

OMgee, you guys came incredibly close..so many people don't know about NOT using a light switch in the event of a gas leak/accidental thingy. Am very glad you're here today.
The book is just fabulous, I really love it. I even forgive you for the distresser....but really - you need a guide to the inks? Nah - use it as a diary next time you go on a trip...I'm sure it won't be long before you can go somewhere..
