Play Time!

beer5a

I have had a bit of a play this morning with more Beer mats [coasters].

After making the mistake of calling Brushed Corduroy ... Dusty Concord ... on my last mat ... it only seemed right that my next spot of up-cycling was using Dusty Concord.

I am frequently asked which Beer mats I use ... to be honest ... it is any that I can lay my hands on ... but in this instance the said beer mat is in fact promoting Greene King IPA. Which for those of you outside the UK is a mucky brown English beer ... not my cup of tea ... but quite popular in these here parts!Beer5

I have also been asked whether I use Gesso to cover the mat ... I don't ... I just glue a bit of card on top ... then sand down the edges.

All of the background stamps and the butterfly are Wendy Vecchi. The Play ticket and beautiful frame are Idea-ology. The flowers are ISC stamped onto an old book page mounted on card. I am not sure where I got the card charm from ... if anyone knows ... perhaps you could say ... because I would quite like some more :0)

It's nice and sunny here ... what's the weather doing where you are?

This piece is my entry for The Theme Thursday challenge this week which is script/writing.

I'm going to have to start going into pubs - just to "borrow" the beer mats! Shame I don't have a man to send in for me, lol. It looks fab!

Again a stunning coaster Linda - gorgeous colouring and that frame is to die for - it's dry but chilly here today

I love this, Linda -everything about it, the colour, the shape, the book page flowers ....! I think Jennie sells some book plates like that, by Tim Holtz. They really 'make' the piece,

Love that shade of purple! I need some shoes that colour!

Love that colour - purple's my favourite in case you hadn't guessed *g* This is stunning and possibly one of my favourites of your pieces. I actually thought from the first pic that it was another cuff in which case I was going to have a serious drool problem. As it is, we have a minor drool problem ;)

As for your comment - you can't seriously want a picture of me on my blog? I don't photo well. I'll do it... but if my blog becomes lonely and friendless because of it I'll lay the blame squarely with Julia Roberts!

The weather here in Southern California - Orange County this morning (6:10am) is quite nice. However, in about 4 hours it will be QUITE warm. Yesterday it was close to 100 where I was. I want AUTUMN darn it! *smiles*

Sorry I was being a bit 'fick earlier, not unusual for me, I thought it was the book plate you were trying to track down. The cards charm is lovely, too,
