Why the question mark I hear you ask ... you did n't? Well you were going to ... trust me :0)
The question mark is because the Milled Lavender is a bit too pastel for my tastes so I added a teensy weensy bit of Dusty Concord to liven it up a bit! I am still working through my beer mats with all of the Ranger Distress Inks and today I decided to work with a lighter shade.
This was in fact a blank white beer mat ... courtesy of my mate Dan which meant it needed no prepping whatsoever ... I just started blending and stamping! Sadly it just looked pale at the end of all that blending and stamping so I placed random patches of Dusty Concord on the Wendy Vecchi gingham stamp and whacked that on top! [That's a technical term!]
The flower is the Poinsettia from the Art of making it merry sheet ... just so you know ... Poinsettias are not just for Christmas.
Before you ask ... yes I did sew all those beads on by hand and yes they did take me flippin' ages ... I am not sure it turned out that well ... but after all that stitching I decided to blog it anyway :0)
Before I forget ... this is my entry for this weeks Sunday Stamper Challenge where the theme is friends.
Have a good week everybody!

patience of a saint. Don't think I could do all that beading. Out of interest what DO you do with all the things you make?
How much patience? Wow! I love the quotation - not seen that one before.
Now I like it :D
It's different from your normal style but very pretty and I love the stamping :D
Your entry is fab too :D
J xx and I'm not snogging you either :P lol
This one has a completly different feel about it...love it. Not sure I would have the patience to do those beads.
This is gorgeous!
Wow, that's SOOOOOOOME beading Ms. Linda!! *smiles* Love it!
Such a stunning piece. The color is awesome!! Love it! Fabulous quote!
Ooh, I think this is just fabulous! I love the different shades of purple, the quote and the beads - it's truly lovely! xo
I find milled lavender very pale too, but was using it yesterday also! I love the beads, but I can't sew buttons on shirts so beads onto a beer mat is a definate no-no ... it does look good though!
I think I would have holes in my fingers after all that tiny stitching! the beads look great! as do the gingham stamped area's very nice!
this is beautiful Linda, I love the colour and how it's turned out and sewing all those beads on? Wow!

The beads turned out fine. There's something therapeutic about stitching beads, possibly because it doesn't need much thought and you can let your mind wander.
Milled Lavender is one of those love/hate colours. Most people I've spoken to don't like it as it's neither one thing or another ("it looks grubby" is a common complaint).
WOW hunny, this is amazing, love the colours, the beading is brilliant and you have so much patience too! Perfect! Thanks for joinin in with the challenge xx
I love it. Your work amazes me you are so inspiring.
Just a beautiful colour and fabby design Linda, the beading looks great, I have some trousers that need taking up will bring them next time I see you xx
Well I like the colour? It looks tres sophisticated? Did you regret the bead thing after about an inch? Can I borrow all of your stamps for quite a long time? Please?
It's lovely Linda :) Know what you mean about the Milled Lavender though I thought there was something wrong with mine when I got it!
Anne xx
